Sad to see pious Paistani Muslim women wearing shalwaar kameez without properly covering heads.
We should rather discuss what is appropriate dress for a Muslim woman. Saudis are sure but late converts seem to change their definition as per their fashion demands.
We should discuss what is the right thing rather than where it originated and which one is more fashionable
In Pakistan, we have freedom to choose. Women can wear qameez shalwar, cover themselves with burqa, or headscarf, or do not cover their heads at all...some even wear western clothes...so people are true to themselves. They are not forced by any govt laws. They choose out of their will and be sincere. I, being a religious person, want to see more and more people select the righteous path but there should be no coercion as promised by my religion. That's why we are different.

Bulls eye :P

"How can something predating the origin of something be assigned as ownership of that newer entity"

I have a way of hitting the mark by seeing through the yellow (and green and saffron) stuff.

Cheers, Doc

An Indian dress...more a Punjabi dress. But there are other Indian dresses that are particular to each state.

Punjabi is more lungi (men) and those really loose pyjamas (for the girls ... lehngas).

I use to be a kickass surd with beard and turban in the bhangra/gidda during BB week in college.

Cheers, Doc

So you are not following the religion properly. Show me some women dresses from Arabia post Islam. I see all women wearing burqa outside. You guys are heavily influenced by Hindus. Like you said that Hindus are now getting civilised by wearing salwaar kameez. My question is why are you like Hindus. Why not become fully civilised. You raised this point abt local dress and civility. I expect a proper response rather than Randi Rona.

Errr ... what do you mean "heavily influenced by Hindus"?

Am I incorrect? Did not the State of India come into being in 1947? Just like Pakistan.
No sir, acc. to them Pakistan came into being in 1947 but india always existed in this form since time immemorial and it was never captured or invaded by anyone... these false stories have been put into the history books by the paid historians ( paid by Arabs and Britishers to embarrass the desis)

Now a hindu will tell me about my religion....go on....:coffee:

Honestly did not expect anything better from you 1. Your logic rather illogical rant had no basis 2. You don't seem clever enough to deflect this question.
Again show me some Arab women dresses worn outside. I believe 99 % of your women are not following proper dress code. So dont lecture abt civility and dress code when your own women do not follow it. Don't want to discuss this any further or give some proper response.

The whole world is influenced by hindus heavily, ...how indianised have become the western people ( and of course none has become westernised in india)...though it is bit strange that when I write "indianised" by system does not recognise it and highlights it as an error or misspelling. Also the language we are using to type was forged in india exactly near the banks of ganga and gangadoos like you spread it to the world after you captured the small island of Britain.

Spare me the rant.

Let me be clear. You would have been "influenced by Hindus" if you had not already been Hindu for the better part of 5000 years.

Stop your bullshit and get lost. We have taught how to be civilised otherwise just go any mandir and see your half and fully naked goddesses and gods.

We know what it is...Arab dress code was perceived stupid by our women. They chose more practical and fashionable salwaar kameez irrespective of religious compulsions. Afghan women mostly accepted burqa but on HINDUstani side burqa wasn't much popular. Anyways burqas will be done away with, just a question of time.

We are all Hindustanis.

Our culture is of this soil. Not some desert sand dunes thousands of kilometers away.

When you come down to it, covering the head and chest is practiced by women from Arabia all the way to south east Asia.

But this burqa is only from one land, one people.

All rants are spared for you and you have been ranting pointlessly and incessantly here. What an idiotic presumption about me...someone who was born in 1990...so how do you count that it becomes 5000 years in your coordinate system....I guess we are living in different universe and since as usual you are not making any sense so do not bother to quote and there are many on PDF who you can interact with.
cheers..

See you force me to retaliate by calling our women and beliefs uncivil. I was not the one who started commenting on these. Now you are running away from discussion. You are a confused convert. Islam is very specific and you just don't seem to agree with it fully but too ashamed to say yes. Wear burqa when outside...not burqini or western dresses or saris etc.
