KARACHI: Parents of Shahzeb Khan – the 20-year-old who was shot dead in Karachi last year – have filed an application in a court, pardoning the murderers, Express News reported on Monday.

On December 25, last year, Shahzeb Khan, 20, was gunned down by Shahrukh Jatoi, who was accompanied by his friends, Siraj and Sajjad Talpur. The young men had a fight after the Talpur’s servant, Ghulam Murtaza Lashari, teased Shahzeb’s sister.
An anti-terrorism court had handed death sentences to main accused Shahrukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur and life-long jail terms to Sajjad Talpur and Ghulam Murtaza Lashari on June 7.
Today, Shahzeb’s parents – DSP Aurangzeb Khan and Ambreen Aurangzeb – have decided to pardon the culprits in the “name of Allah.” They have further requested for their release.

Why you all Pakistanis look so annoyed?? You should be happy to hear that the law of Allah aka 'Sharia Law' prevails in Pakistan, thats what most of you were demanding. So why this 'dramabaaji'??

I congratulate all PDF members for this success and wish to Allah to bring all Pakistan under its rule of Sharia. So called humanity or human life is nothing in front of religion and so what he killed one 20 year old young boy, afterall Its the sharia law that pardoned innocent looking son of billionaire. Sharia also offers you a chance of reconciliation with TTP, because that's what they are fighting for and killing thosands of civilians & Pak army. They should also be pardoned through Sharia law. Now its your time to protest and press govt to continue only Sharia courts in all Pakistan and demolish parallel running civil courts.

Some morons were also protesting when one US citizen was released that killed two Pakistanis by using same 'blood money' law. How can they did this blasphemy of opposing the ruling of Sharia court that implemented rule of Allah at that time. All blasphemous should be traced, captured, tortured and beheaded according to the Allah's law or you can say Allah's will. Allah-hu-Akbar!!!

Even if true, so what? Murder is murder. The arrangement with the family should not, imo, stop a criminal prosecution and even a conviction, though I suppose it could be applied to mitigating sentencing and punishment.

Pak-one sahab if i am not wrong DSP Aurangzeb is himself Pashtun. I think they are Khattak but really don't understand why they did this as Pashtuns never let blood go unavenged.

khattaks do not follow pashtunwali, they are known for this. Neighbour tribes like bangash, orakzai, afridi etc mock them and label them beghairat and spineless. On positive note they have highest male and female literacy rates among all the pashtuns and are not crude like rest.

From what she said if you summarize its clear there is serious threat to the lives of shahzebs sisters , his friends & family. She said we are left alone & isolated. His friends and another witness said any one can come and shoot any one randomly. Things are very different on ground! Being a karachiete i can understand where she is coming from , shahzebs parents are avoiding further innocent bloodshed and the message in distrust in the state leas

Its assumed generally that the murderer will be freed however the judges are the ultimate authority and can decide against it , in terms of religion parents or blood relatives have the final say ! since we have a mocktail of both religion and state its hard to say what will be the end result. In my opinion the judges will decide against and will not let the killer walk away that easy since the case is too politicized ,one wonders what kind of justice is provided to the hundreds and thousands of similar cases it highlights a serious flaw in our justice system.
