malala_yousafzai_by_hanciong-d5ikyp7.jpg

let me tell you this... in the last days of september, my face was distorted by a paralysis condition called "bell's palsy" that i got through a certain virus infection which generally happens in a cold place and for me it must have happened in a cinema hall... presently, medicines have removed the distortion to a large extent.

now i am not a greek god looker but still someone whose old-style looks, demeanor and stylishness many times have gotten second glances, long glances and side-comments from the ladies ( and admiring or angry-jealous from the males :D ) and i am used to it... the "bell's palsy" distortion gave me a realization ( not that i a socialist needed this to realize ) that looks can fade and change with change in circumstance and one mustn't judge someone on looks... i have retained my dignity, my intellect, my gentleness and my empathy despite the visible distortion on my face.

now this virus-borne condition could happen to anyone, including you, and unlike me what if takes a long time to repair or perhaps becomes life long?? what if people prefer to make excuses to make exit from you at the first opportunity?? what if facebook pages mention you as ugly?? :)

and what malala suffered is uncountably different than my medicinally-treatable temporary paralysis-induced face distortion.

@Aminroop @WAJsal @Zibago @django @Hello It's me - would you agree with me??

do you speak for every pakistani?? you don't even live in pakistan. :)

it is my belief that malala, when she has released herself from usa government's attempts to use her, is fit to be one of the leaders of south asia.
Completely agree with you Jamahir and I hope you fully recover soon :)

Malala Yousafzai has became a toxic brand in Pakistan since she is manipulated by anti-Pakistan forces. Best to ignore her. She does not have any influence or following in Pakistan.
Now she has an assistant, Shiza Shahid. And they've some "plans" for Pakistani girls.:pakistan:

I think Sahid Afridi , Shoib Akhtar and Wasim Akram is most famous figure of Pakistan in abroad. I don't know who is this guy 'Fawad khan'? I don't know if in any other field Pakistan has internationally famous figure apart from Cricket.

Infact the Guy in your DP is a British Pakistani zyn malik.. so you should pay more attention around and get out of your internal hate box.. so you can see things clearly...
Start with Jahangir khan, Jan sher Khan of SQUASH..Pakistan dominated this game for like almost 30+ years..
And Sohail Abbas of hockey.. :cheers:

.
I know Pakistan hockey team plays gream game but I don't think it has produce any famous figure in hockey. Squas , boxing haven't heard much Pakistani name in.

The second pic is of Jahangir Khan, a legendary Squash player who won 555 matches consecutively as well as winning the World and UK opens numerous times. Along with Jansher Khan the two dominated world squash for decades.

The two today (further left is Jansher and in the middle is Jahangir)

Great. I should have known that.
The first one ?

In boxing we have produced some Asian Champions but not beyond that. Think we only have 1 Olympic Gold in boxing.

Pakistan is the most successful nation in the Hockey World cup, winning it a record 4 times and coming in 2nd twice. Sohail Abbas is the highest goal scorer ever in hockey.

Squash would not be squash without Pakistan. Jahangir is considered to be the best player of squash ever, by many others 'best player ever, period'. For 5 years he was unbeaten. During that time he won 555 matches consecutively, the longest winning streak by any athlete in top-level professional sports as recorded by Guinness World Records. From 1982 to 1993 he won 10 consecutive British Open Championships (the world cup of squash, so to speak), which is a record for both total and consecutive wins. Time Magazine has named Jahangir as one of Asia's Heroes in the last 60 years. He was also given a sportsman of the millennium award by some sports organization. He then served as the President of the World Squash Federation from 2002 to 2008 and currently is the Emeritus President of the World Squash Federation. Here's an article about him Jahangir Khan: The Greatest Athlete Ever – SportPulse

Then emerged the only challenger to Jahangir's undisputed rule of squash; the great Jansher Khan, another Pakistani. This was the man who succeeded Jahangir on the throne of the world of squash as the undisputed sultan. Winning a total of 99 titles he reigned as world no.1 for 12 years, from 1988 till 2000. He still holds the record of most World Open titles. No other sport has ever been dominated by anyone the way these two Khans dominated squash.

Pakistan's absolute domination of squash lasted for almost 50 years. It started with Hashim Khan's win of the 1951 British Open and ended with Jansher Khan's retirement in 2000. This period is known as the "Khan Dynasty" in squash circles. The following is a short reference from the official World Squash Federation Website about what Pakistan is to the world of Squash,

PAKISTAN – BIRTHPLACE OF CHAMPIONS
Of all the nations where Squash is played, Pakistan is the greatest enigma, producing a succession of amazing Squash champions from a country where there are still less than 500 courts. No history of Squash can be complete without an account of the amazing exploits of the Khan dynasty, starting with Hashim who won the first of his seven British Open titles in 1951 at the age of 35 years. Hashim was the first of a line of great Pakistani Squash Champions – Azam Khan, Mohibullah Khan, Roshan Khan, Aftab Jawaid, Gogi Alauddin, Mo Yasin, Qamar Zaman, Mohibullah Khan Junior, Hiddy Jahan and the two greatest players of the 1980s and 1990s, perhaps of all time, Jahangir Khan and Jansher Khan. Jahangir, now Emeritus President of the World Squash Federation, dominated the sport for 14 years, winning the British Open 10 times and the World Open 8 times and was undefeated for 5½ years. Jansher took over his mantle in 1989 with the first of his World Open titles and began a debate in the sport about which JK was the greatest of them all.

Isn't he british?

Well according to Amir Khan, when he enters the ring he has the Union Jack in one pocket and the Pakistani flag in the other. They once interviewed him in his private gym and he had Pakistani and British flags hung all around the room alternatively.

On topic:
The Pakistani celebrities that I know of 're Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Shahid Afridi, Atif aslam and RAHAT Fateh ali Khan.
The only 2 women from Pakistan who are famous for the right reasons are Benazir Bhutto and Malala.
I am not sure if Fawad Khan is as famous as the names mentioned above.

@jamahir
