More and more demonstrations were staged on Saturday in many districts across Bangladesh demanding death sentence for all war criminals, including Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Abdul Quader Molla.

The demonstrators are not agreeing to stop even after they have become tired from the daylong protest and demonstration. They would not return home until their demands are met, they said.

People from all walks of life have already expressed solidarity with the protesters’, mainly young men and women, movement which begun at Dhaka’s Shahbagh intersection on Tuesday with a handful of protesters.

The Shahbagh gathering later turned into a massive protest with several thousand people occupying the intersection to protest against the ‘light’ verdict of life term to Molla and it was still going on early Sunday for the sixth day in a row.

The International War Crimes Tribunal-2 on last Tuesday sentenced Molla to life in prison that the protesters are calling ‘too light’ compared to the crimes he did during the War of Independence in 1971.

bdnews24.com correspondents from districts reported that people across the country are staging many protest programmes including blockades, meetings, rallies, processions, human-chains and demonstrations.

Khulna

The sit-in programme at the city’s Shibbarhi intersection demanding death for the Jamaat leader continued on Saturday for the fourth day. The protests had taken place in different areas earlier, but on Saturday the intersection was declared to be the only place for the sit-in.

The organisers announced that their movement would continue until the demand is met.

A press briefing was also held at the main stage. The protesters also banned entry of all kinds of political parties and individuals.

Rajshahi

Students of Rajshahi City College, Shah Mokhdum College and Shaheed Kamaruzzaman College boycotted classes in the morning and joined the rally at the city’s Alupotti intersection.

Extending their support to the movement at Shahbagh, they also chanted slogans and sung mass music demanding death for the war criminals by hanging and banning Jamaat.

Students at Rajshahi University also continued their protest for the third straight day at their campus. They brought out processions, rallies, held cultural programmes and also set up a mock execution platform and burned effigies of war criminals.

Narayanganj

The protest of the Narayanganj Sangskritik Jote at the town’s Central Shaheed Minar at Chasharha continued on Saturday.

They sang songs, recited poems and chanted slogans at the rally over the same demand. The demonstrators also vowed to continue the movement until the war criminals including Molla are awarded death sentence.

Kushtia

Members of Progressive Chhatra Samaj blockaded the main gate of the Islamic University in Kushtia from 11am to 1pm as a protest against the ‘light punishment’ to Molla and demanding death to all war criminals.

Bagerhat

Mahila Parishad held a human-chain programme earlier in the day in front of the Bagerhat Press Club and brought out a procession from there. Local units of Communist Party of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Chhatra League and Bangladesh Students Union also supported their protest programme.

Bhola

Mass gathering and rallies were staged at the district’s Lalmohon and Borhanuddin upazilas on Saturday.

People from all social classes including cultural and human rights activists, teachers and students demonstrated in front of the K Jahar Market at the town. Their protest would continue until Molla gets capital punishment, they said.

Chandpur

The air at the town’s ‘Shapath Chattar’ was filled with slogans and mass music since the afternoon. The demonstration was joined by freedom fighters and activists from different cultural and social organisations. Students of various institutions also joined the protest.

The programme was continuing late on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, bdnews24.com correspondents from Laxmipur, Magura, Naogaon, Netrokona, Panchagarh, Rajbarhi and Sherpur also reported similar protest programmes attended by people from the broad spectrum of society. Protests at some of the districts were continuing on Saturday for second or three consecutive days.

গতকাল শনিবার শাহবাগ মোড়ে আয়োজিত আওয়ামী লীগের সমাবেশ -সংগ্রাম

স্টাফ রিপোর্টার : জামায়াতের সহকারী সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল আব্দুল কাদের মোল্লাসহ যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের ফাঁসির দাবিতে বাম ও ছাত্রলীগের আন্দোলনের আগুনে পানি ঢেলে দিয়েছেন খোদ প্রধানমন্ত্রীর পররাষ্ট্র উপদেষ্টা ড. গওহর রেজভী। ট্রাইব্যুনালে কাদের মোল্লার বিরুদ্ধে দেয়া রায়ের পরিবর্তে ফাঁসি কার্যকর করার দাবি নিয়ে গত ৫দিন ধরে সরকার দলীয় শŠর্ষ নেতা ও বাম ঘারানোর বিভিন্ন শ্রেণীর লোকজন গলাবাজি করে যে জোয়ার সৃষ্টি চেষ্টা চালিয়ে আসছিলেন পররাষ্ট্র উপদেষ্টা গতকাল শাহাবাগে এসে এক বক্তব্যেরে মাধমে সে জোয়ার আর আবেগকে নিঃশেষ করে দিয়েছেন। গতকাল শাহবাগ এসে ড. গওহর রিজভী বলেছেন ‘ট্রাইব্যুনাল সম্পূর্ণ স্বাধীন তাই রায়ের ব্যাপারে কিছু বলা ঠিক হবে না' ।

অন্যদিকে শাহবাগ চত্বরে চলমান আন্দোলনে প্রাথমিক উৎসাহে ভাটা ক্রমেই স্পষ্ট হয়ে উঠছে। এই আন্দোলনের সাথে সাধারণ মানুষ, নির্দলীয় নিরপেক্ষ তরুণ শ্রেণীতে সম্পৃক্ত করা যায়নি। ঘুরে ফিরে কিছু বাম ছাত্রসংগঠনের এবং ছাত্রলীগের নেতা-কর্মীরা শাহবাগ চত্বরকে তুখোড় বক্তৃতা ও গা-বাজনার মাধ্যমে প্রাণবন্ত রাখার প্রাণান্তকর চেষ্টা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে। তবে সময় যতোই যাচ্ছে ততই আমেজ কমেছে সেখানে। আন্দোলনের সাথে যে তরুণ প্রজন্মের কথা বলা হচ্ছে শাহবাগের আন্দোলনে তাদের সম্পৃক্ততা নেই। বরং বাম ছাত্রসংগঠনের নেতা-কর্মী ও তাদের ঘরানার লোকজন এবং ছাত্রলীগের নেতা-কর্মীরাই মুলত এ আন্দোলন চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে। তরুণ প্রজন্মের কথা বলে মানুষের মাঝে বিভ্রান্তি ছড়ানো হচ্ছে।

ভারতীয় কন্ঠশিল্পি সুমন কবীরের লেখা গান ‘সীমানা চেনে না সুর' দিয়ে শুরু হয় শাহবাগ চত্বরের গতকাল শনিবারের আন্দোলন কর্মসূচি। গতকাল ছিল আন্দোলনের ৫ম দিন। গত মঙ্গলবার থেকে আন্দোলন শুরু করে ব্লগার নেটওয়ার্ক ও অনলাইন একটিভিস্ট ফোরাম।

এদিকে শাহবাগে গিয়ে দেখা যায়, আন্দোলনকারীদের বসানো গানের আসরে উৎসুক লোকজন কিছুক্ষণ দাঁড়িয়ে আবার চলে যাচ্ছে নিজ নিজ গন্তব্যে। কেউবা দেখেছেন আন্দোলনকারীদের অন্যান্য কাজ কর্ম। আর আন্দোলন জমানোর জন্য গতকালও ঢাকার বিভিন্ন শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে গাড়িতে করে নিয়ে আসা হয় শিক্ষার্থীদের। বিভিন্ন টিভি চ্যানেলের সামনে কথা বলার জন্য আগে তাদের শিখিয়ে দেয়া হয়।

এরই মধ্যে গতকাল শাহবাগে আসেন বাম মতাদর্শী বিভিন্ন শ্রেণী পেশার মানুষ। তাদের অনেকে সমর্থন ব্যক্ত করে বক্তব্য দিয়েছেন আন্দোলনকারীদের দাবি নিয়ে। দুপুরে শাহবাগে আসেন প্রধান মন্ত্রীর পররাষ্ট্র বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা ড. গওহর রিজভী। গণমঞ্চে তিনি বক্তব্য দেয়ার সুযোগ না পেলেও কথা বলেন গণমাধ্যমের সাথে।

জনগণ বলছে ট্রাইব্যুনালের রায়ে কাদের মোল্লার গুরু পাপে লঘু দন্ড হয়েছে, সাংবাদিকদের এমন প্রশ্নের জবাবে ড. গওহর রিজভী বলেন, এ ব্যাপারে আমার কোনো কিছু বলা ঠিক হবে না। কারণ এই রায় দিয়েছে ট্রাইব্যুনাল। ট্রাইব্যুনাল সম্পূর্ণ স্বাধীন। তাই তাদের দেয়া রায়ের ব্যাপারে আমার কিছু বলা ঠিক হবে না। তবে একজন সাধারণ নাগরিক হিসেবে আমি জনমতের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাশীল।

তিনি বলেন, যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচারের দাবিতে জনগণের অবস্থানের সঙ্গে সরকারের অবস্থানের কোনো পার্থক্য নেই। এখানে সমবেত সবার উদ্দেশ্য একটাই তা হলো যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচার। মতের পার্থক্য থাকতেই পারে কিন্তু যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচার প্রসঙ্গে সবাই একমত।

সরকারের সঙ্গে জামায়াতে ইসলামের সমঝোতার কথা শোনা যাচ্ছে এ ব্যাপারে সাংবাদিকরা প্রশ্ন করলে গওহর রিজভী বলেন, অ্যাবসুলেটলি ননসেন্স, সরকার বিরোধীরাই এসব গুজব ছড়িয়েছে। তিনি বলেন বিদেশে মিডিয়ায় অনেক ধরনের প্রচারণা হতেই পারে। তবে এতে বিচারের প্রক্রিয়ায় কোনো ধরনের প্রভাব পড়বে না। বিচার তার নিজস্ব গতিতেই চলবে। এদিকে গতকাল শাহবাগ চত্বরে ড. আনিসুজ্জামানসহ বাম ঘরানোর বিভিন্ন পেশার মানুষ বক্তব্য দেন। আসেন আওয়ামী লীগের মতিয়া চৌধুরীও তিনি আন্দোলনকারীর মাথায় হাত বুলিয়ে দেন।

শাহবাগে গতকালও গণসংগীত, শ্লোগানে শ্লোগানে মাতিয়ে রাখার চেষ্টা করা হয়। ক্লাস ছেড়ে বহু শিক্ষা-প্রতিষ্ঠানের ছাত্ররা গতকাল শনিবারও দলে দলে প্রজন্ম চত্বরে এসে সমবেত হয়। বেলা বাড়ার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তা বাড়ছিল। রাজধানীর বিভিন্ন এলাকা ও শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে খন্ড খন্ড মিছিল আসতে থাকে শাহবাগে। দুপুরের পর বিভিন্ন স্কুল, কলেজের শিক্ষার্থীরা ইউনিফর্ম পড়া অবস্থায়ই শাহবাগ চত্বরে নিয়ে আসা হয়।

আন্দোলনকারীদের জন্য ঠান্ডা পানি আর রুটি নিয়ে আসলেন তরুণ ব্যবসায়ী ওমর ফারুক। বিলি করে দিলেন আন্দোলনকারীদের মাঝে। এমনিভাবে আন্দোলনের গত ৫ দিন ধরে বিভিন্ন স্থান থেকে আসে খাবার। বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে ফ্রি খাবারের ব্যবস্থা, ওয়াসার পানি সরবরাহ এবং মোবাইল টয়লেটের কারণে কোনো বেগ পেতে হচ্ছে না আন্দোলনকারীদের। আন্দোলনকারীদের জন্য রান্না করে নিয়ে আসছেন বাম সংগঠনের নেত্রীরা। কেউ দিয়ে যাচ্ছেন কমলার বাক্স। কেউ দিচ্ছেন শসা, গাজর কিংবা কলা।

শাহবাগে চলমান গণআন্দোলনের পঞ্চম দিনে একটি কফিন নিয়ে এসেছেন আন্দোলনকারীরা। সেই কফিনে লেখা, ‘সিকিউরিটি চেকড-রাজাকারের কফিন- পার্সেল ফর পাকিস্তান। আরও লেখা ‘কাদের মোল্লা কবে আসবি এই কফিনে? শাহবাগের আন্দোলনকারীদের নিরাপত্তা দিতে সরকারের বিভিন্ন সংস্থার সদস্যরা তৎপর রয়েছে। পুলিশের পাশাপাশি র*্যাব ও সহযোগিতা দিয়ে যাচ্ছেন আন্দোলনকারীদের।

এরই মধ্যে বিকেলে সাড়ে ৫টার দিকে সভামঞ্চ ছাত্রলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সিদ্দিকী নাজমুল আলম ঘোষণা দেয়, শিবির আন্দোলনের সভামঞ্চের আশপাশে বিভিন্ন রকম লিফলেট বিলি করে বিভ্রান্তি ছড়াচ্ছে বলে অভিযোগ পাওয়া গেছে। এ জন্য গোয়েন্দারা আন্দোলনকারীদেরও মাঝে মাঝে সতর্ক করছে। যে কোনো অপ্রীকিতর পরিস্থিতি এড়াতে তারা কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন সার্বক্ষণিকভাবে। ছাত্রলীগ নেতা বলেন, আপনারা এই আন্দোলনকে বেগবান করতে নিজ নিজ দায়িত্ব থেকে সতর্ক থাকুন। স্বাধীনতাবিরোধী শক্তিরা বিভিন্নভাবে আমাদের মাঝে ঢুকে পড়ার চেষ্টা করে যাচ্ছে। এর আগে সকালে ছাত্রলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক দৈনিক আমার দেশ ও দৈনিক নয়া দিগন্ত পত্রিকায় আগুন দেয়।

Jamaat-e-Islami protested the verdict as demonstrators -- including some from ruling party alliances -- took to the streets demanding the death penalty for Mollah.

Jamaat-e-Islami said its members would continue to protest; many of its leaders are behind bars facing charges of murder, arson, looting and rape stemming from the war of independence in 1971.

They said the war-crimes trials, which began after more than 40 years of independence, was done with "ill political motive."

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina showed no sign of backing down, saying the trials would be completed at any cost.

Amid tight security, a three-member panel of judges of the International Crimes Tribunal-2 delivered the judgment against Mollah in a crowded courtroom on Tuesday.

Mollah, 64, was found guilty of five of six charges, including murder.

They included crimes against humanity, tribunal Chairman Justice Obaidul Hassan said.

After the verdict was read, Mollah stood from the chair on which he had been seated and cried, "Allahu Akbar!" (God is Great!)

He declared he was innocent and began to curse the judges and the government.

He then pulled a copy of the Quran from his pocket and held it in front of him, saying that the judges would one day find themselves on trial in accordance with the holy book's law.

Lawmakers of the ruling party alliance criticized the verdict in parliament and asked the prosecution to appeal for the death penalty.

Mollah, who was the chief of the students' wing of Jamaat-e-Islami in 1971, is the first Jamaat-e-Islami leader convicted in a war-crimes case by the tribunal.

On January 21, the same tribunal sentenced to death the first war crimes convict, Abul Kalam Azad, alias Bachchu *******.

My prediction is that Hindutva is going to get stronger in the future, secular India is a myth. When societies rise from poverty and there is less hunger and more time to think about other things, there will be rise in religiosity and religious nationalism, which is also essential to keep unity and cohesion in the Indian Union.

This means that we have not seen the worst yet, in fact, I believe we have not seen the beginning yet, how Hindutva movement will affect us.

Not only will there be no possibility of any kind of SAARC union, unless we improve our situation, have some strong alliances and are ready to defend ourselves in all sectors, we will be in for a lot tougher times in coming decades, because of a large bullying and bigot neighbor, who hate us just because who and what we are.

India may become more liberal and secular after about a century. That is at least how long it will take for this society to evolve IMO and grow out of religious nationalism and bigotry.

প্রধানমন্ত্রী নিজেই ফাঁদে পড়েছেন

যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচার শুধু আওয়ামী লীগ ও সরকারের জন্যই নয়, বরং এটা জাতির জন্য মহাসঙ্কটের সৃষ্টি করেছে বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন সাবেক ছাত্রলীগ নেতারা। তারা বলেন, আওয়ামী লীগ আজ কমিউনিস্টবন্দী হয়ে গেছে। যারা একদিন বঙ্গবন্ধুকে সিআইয়ের এজেন্ট, দালাল বলতো, যারা তার ফাঁসির দাবি করেছিল, বঙ্গবন্ধুর চামড়া দিয়ে তবলা বানাতে চেয়েছিল আজ তারা আওয়ামী লীগের কান্ডারী বনে গেছেন। আমরা বারবার বলেছি যুদ্ধাপারাধীদের বিচারকে রাজনৈতিক এজেন্ডা বানানো ঠিক হবে না। কিন্তু বামদের প্ররোচনায় এ বিচারকে রাজনৈতিক এজেন্ডা বানাতে গিয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রী আজ নিজেই ফাঁদে পড়ে গেছেন। আর কাদের মোল্লার রায় বামবন্দী প্রধানমন্ত্রীর একগুয়েমী ও নিষ্ঠুরতার বহিঃপ্রকাশ।
সাবেক ছাত্রলীগ নেতা সৈয়দ মাযহারুল হক বাকী, আব্দুর রাজ্জাক ও আব্দুর রউফের মৃত্যুবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে প্রাক্তন ছাত্রলীগ ফাউন্ডেশন আয়োজিত এক আলোচনাসভায় তারা এসব কথা বলেন। সংগঠনের আহবায়ক নুরে আলম সিদ্দিকীর সভাপতিত্বে বিকেলে রাজধানীর ডিপ্লোমা ইঞ্জিনিয়ার্স ইনস্টিটিউশন মিলনায়তনে এ সভায় আরো বক্তব্য রাখেন আওয়ামী লীগের সাবেক সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক মাহমুদুর রহমান মান্না, ছাত্রলীগের সাবেক সভাপতি খালেদ মোহাম্মদ আলী, মোস্তফা মহসিন মন্টু, সুধীর কুমার হাজরা, খন্দকার হারুনুর রশিদ প্রমূখ।
নুরে আলম সিদ্দিকী বলেন, ‘আমরা আগে থেকেই বলে আসছি যুদ্ধাপরাধীর বিচারকে রাজনৈতিক এজেন্ডায় পরিণত করবেন না। কিন্তু সরকারের থাকা বামদের প্ররোচনায় তাই করা হলো। যে পাখি খাঁচা থেকে উড়ে গেল সেই পাখির ফাঁসির রায় হলো। আর যে পাখি ৪’শ মানুষ হত্যা করে খাঁচায় বন্দি তার এ লঘু দন্ড হলো। এ রায় বামবন্দী প্রধানমন্ত্রীর একগুয়েমী ও নিষ্ঠুরতার বহিঃপ্রকাশ।
তিনি বলেন, যুদ্ধাপরাধীর বিচার শুধু আওয়ামী লীগ ও সরকারের জন্যই নয়, এটা জাতির জন্য মহাসঙ্কট তৈরি করেছে। এটা সরকারের অপরিনামদর্শিতা।
তিনি বলেন, কোনোভাবে যদি সরকার পরিবর্তন হয় তাহলে কাদের মোল্লার যাবজ্জীবন সাজা ওই দিনই শেষ হয়ে যাবে। কেউ ঠেকাতে পারবে না।
প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে উদ্দেশ করে ছাত্রলীগের সাবেক এ সভাপতি বলেন, ‘যুদ্ধাপরাধীর বিচারকে রাজনৈতিক এজেন্ডা বানাতে গিয়ে আপনি নিজেও ফান্দে পড়েছেন, জাতিকেও বিভ্রান্ত করেছেন। বাম রাজনীতিবিদদের খপ্পড়ে পড়ে আপনি আজ একঘরে হয়ে পড়েছেন। বিশ্বব্যাংক, আমেরিকাসহ বিভিন্ন দাতা দেশের সাথে সর্ম্পক নষ্ট করেছেন। তাই সময় শেষ হয়ে যাবার আগে বামরুদ্ধ অবস্থা থেকে বেরিয়ে আসুন, সুপথে ফিরে আসুন, সজ্ঞানে ফিরে আসুন। সারা দুনিয়া থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে একা চলতে পারবেন না। ভারত আমাদের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধে সহায়তা করেছে। তারা আমাদের অকৃত্রিম বন্ধু, তবে তাদের প্রতি কোন আনুগত্য নয়।’
মাহমুদুর রহমান মান্না বলেন, ‘আজ দেশের যুব সমাজ জেগে উঠেছে। তারা আজ পাঁচ দিন হলো সেখানে অবস্থান করছেন। কিন্তু তাদের জবাব দেয়ার মতো কেউ নেই। আওয়ামী লীগের কয়েকজন নেতা শুরুতে তাদের সাথে সংহতি প্রকাশ করেছেন। কিন্তু কেউ তাদের কোনো জবাব দিতে পারে নি। তরুণ প্রজন্মের যে গণজোয়ার শুরু হয়েছে তা জনতার পইে থাকবে। তাদেরকে নানাভাবে বিভ্রান্ত করার চেষ্টা করা হচ্ছে। তবে তারা মুক্তিযুদ্ধের পইে থাকবে বলে আমার বিশ্বাস।’
আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইবুনাল প্রসঙ্গে তিনি বলেন, ‘এই ট্রাইব্যুনাল নিয়ে কেউ প্রশ্ন তুলতে পরবে না বলে সরকার আশ্বাস দিয়েছিল।। কিন্তু ট্রাইব্যুনালের একজন বিচারক স্কাইপি কেলেঙ্কারীর পর পদত্যাগ করেছেন। আরেকজন সরাসরি স্বাধীনতাবিরোধী কর্মকান্ডে জড়িত ছিলেন। আজ ট্রাইব্যুনালের রায়ের বিরুদ্ধে তরুণ প্রজন্ম অবস্থান নিয়েছে। এতো কিছু কেনো হলো সরকারকে এর জবাব দিবে হবে।’
জামায়াত-শিবিরের রাজনীতি প্রসঙ্গে সাবেক এ ছাত্র নেতা বলেন, যুদ্ধাপরাধীর বিচারসহ নানা ক্ষেত্রে অযোগ্যতার প্রমাণ দিয়ে আওয়ামী লীগ মানুষের কাছে হেয় হয়ে যাচ্ছে। তারা সঠিকভাবে দেশ পরিচালনা করছেনা। যুব সমাজ আজ কাদের মোল্লার কথা বলছে একদিন সব দুর্ণীতি ও অপকর্মের কথাও বলবে।
মোস্তফা মহসিন মন্টু বলেন, পদ্মা সেতু, শেয়ারবাজার, হলমার্ক ও ট্রেন কেলেঙ্কারী দেশকে ধ্বংসের দ্বারপ্রান্তে নিয়ে গেছে।

You made a good point.

However in the long run, without inconveniencing our country, people like me and the hundreds of thousands in Shahbagh square want an end to Jamat for once and for all.

On a personal level I believe the best thing to do is to systematically undermine the Jamati ideology from the roots starting from Maudoodi and his ideas.

Even many Maulanas hate Jamat e.g. the video below (a bit extreme but an example of the hatred he has held in by many Muslims including in the Pakistan which he initially opposed).

I am sure the Pakistan alim above will be called a "RAW agent", "Indian dalal", "communist" by the Jamati gang on this forum.

Firstly Jamat is not a leader base Party that you ban it or killed its key leaders would vanish them from Bangladesh . they wil form another party based on some principle but when the chance would come they may rise their original principle of Islam .

Jamat have goon through different change over time . it would do same in future.
In sub continent Alim are divided . many Alim support Jamt on the other hand many don't. that didn't stop their politics . of course if some part of alim didn't express hatred toward Jaamat they may do well in politics .

During Pakistan movement Mulana maududi told they can form a Muslim country but cannot a Islamic country which probably mark Jaamat/maududi was anti Pakistan . in reality mududi's books about Nationalism were widely distributed by Muslim league to encourage Muslim of india towards Pakistan movement which was based on Islamic nationalism.

মূলত ব্লগাররা এ আন্দোলন শুরু করলেও বাম সংগঠনগুলো অংশ নেয় তাদের সঙ্গে। তবে মঙ্গলবার রাত থেকেই আন্দোলনটি পুরোপুরি নিয়ন্ত্রণে রেখেছে ছাত্রলীগ উপস্থাপনা ও স্লোগানে বাম সংগঠনের নেতাকর্মীরা দিনরাত সময় দিলেও নিয়ন্ত্রণ নেই তাদের হাতে।

এদিকে খাবার পরিবেশন, নিরাপত্তা ও ব্যবস্থাপনা থেকে শুরু করে সব কাজ পরিচালনা করছেন ছাত্রলীগের কেন্দ্রীয় ও ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শাখা নেতাকর্মীরা। সকাল থেকে শুরু করে রাত ২ টা পর্যন্ত মনিটরিং করছেন ছাত্রলীগ সভাপতি এইচ এম বদিউজ্জামান সোহাগ, সাধারণ সম্পাদক সিদ্দিকী নাজমুল আলম।

জানা গেছে, রাত জেগে আন্দোলন করতে নারাজ ছাত্রলীগ। তাই রাতের ঘুম শেষে সকাল ১০ টায় নিয়মিত অংশ নিচ্ছেন তারা। চলমান এ আন্দোলনে অনুদানের টাকায় খাবারের ব্যবস্থাপনাও করছে ছাত্রলীগ। গত কয়েকদিন ধরে শাহবাগে ছাত্রনেতাদের পছন্দসই খাবার পরিবেশন করতে দেখা গেছে।
