@All Vietnamese members here...
It seems when it come to war with China, you people seem can't forget it and more emotionally. The impression is like you people even more emotionally and angrier than the war with US, even US committed far greater damage.
I wonder.... if Vietnam was actually lost to China?
No. not yet.
why?
Some Thai saysSo why do you continue to worry it?
Some Thai says
"Beware of Thought, because thought become words"
"Beware of words, because words become actions"
Im worry because I think Vietnamese is smart & hard working people. They are more likely to success it what ever they want to do.
If there intension is expansionism, then Im worry.
However, Thailand is my home country. If Vietnam army success in conquest of Thailand. I loss my country&become boat people. Thats what Im worry.
----------
I think Vietnamese is smart in IQ and toughness. Therefore, given a battlefield, they are going to exel. I think Thailand (elte) still smarter than Vietnam in EQ and Social ability. Therefore Thailand ('s elite) is more skillful in diplomacy and statecraft.

In all ASEAN members, only Vietnam is the masochism, even nobody intend to do so.
Ah, I can explain that to you. Our history textbook teaches us that China, once a brother, stabbed Vietnam in the back by making deal with the US in 1972, then supported Khmer Rogue to attack VN in 1978 and then invaded Vietnam in 1979 (other skimishes between the 2 countries are not taught in schools). People can respect enemies, but hate traitors, and to many Vietnamese, China betrayed Vietnam first. So you see VN mems get emotional easily when it comes to VN-China conflicts.@All Vietnamese members here...

No, it's just a misunderstanding in the past, when our airmy chased Khmer Rouge to border of Cambodia-Thailand.
Now the two countries Vietnam-Thailand have established strategic partnerships.
You are richer than us, your army is not weaker than ours. So your anxiety is just a myth.
We learn that you are an ungrateful country who will align with the strong force whenever you have a choice. Cheap ho. LOL Remember the reason we stabbed you is because you chose the Soviet Union during the split in 1969. There is no love and loss between us. Everyone goes after their interest. We no longer believe in the Communist brotherhood.Ah, I can explain that to you. And about who won or lost the war, can't say for sure. Both sides declared victory but never said anything about the other declaration. But for sure VN and Chinese blood were both spilled.
You are contradicting yourself. Since both Soviet and China helped VN, you can't say VN betrayed China for Soviet. It was of best interest for China to make VN a 2nd Korea, splitted and constantly at war. VN leaders disagreed and lean towards Soviet for they wanted an united VN.We learn that you are an ungrateful country who will align with the strong force whenever you have a choice. Cheap ho. Please take time to learn some history. When Vietnam War first started, Soviet and China relation were tight until the mid Vietnam War when we split apart. We became enemy in that short period. You chose the Soviet over us. Despite the split, we continue to help you but at much reduce rate. By the time you won the war with the South, we are not your friend so you cannot say we betray you when we are not friend. That all happened in the late 70s. By the 70s, you and Soviet are one alliance while we with the West align together in that time period. You are contradicting yourself. China was the first country to forsake Communist brotherhood and Internationalism by shaking hand with the US in the height of the Cold War, so yeah, you are right about that.
