What's new

Shabaz Sharif & PML-N appeasing terrorists?

I think we just lost it, Damn I don't even have any big abuses left for him

If i had a suicide jacket I would have certainly blown myself up with that Idiot, atleast i would have done a favor to my country Shame on Him, If he has any

:partay: when are you doing the favour

Give him a break, i think he also said those words in emotions and now the same are costing him badly.

I wonder the organised gangs composed of political, religious, neo-liberals, marxists and so on in Pakistan are ready to exploit every statment as soon as it is issued. In case of gunja Shahbaz the same is happening with newspapers, electronic media full of organised propaganda now.

Some even have linked PML-N with Sipah-e-Sahaba and other banned outfits.

I think we have seen the alot of mess already, NO more please.

This idiot has given a silly nonsense statement which is damaging his party and politics no doubt.

Its the same situation in the US, where every statement and word is poured over by the media, and politicians and public figures have to be very careful about what they do and say, lest it be picked up by the media and become a stick to beat them with.

I don't necessarily think this is a bad thing, that the media and analysts focus in such detail on what our 'elected leaders' are doing and saying - it should help keep them on their toes and hold them accountable.

Had the media not picked up on this statement and the opposition parties not criticized him, Sharif may not have issued a clarification.

Given this and the SSP controversy, the PML-N, and in fact most major political parties, will hopefully become more careful of what they say and who they try to form public alliances with.

If nothing else, the outrage over these two issues and their raising by the media implicitly and explicitly sends the message to Pakistanis that this is unacceptable behavior, and therefore strengthens the anti-terrorism narrative in Pakistan.

You are from Peshwar, I think you can provide one to me

Emotions? whats that the thing that is there with politicians only, One begging with a picture of BB & the other is using emotion of Gazwa-e-Hind to catch the imagination of people & climb the stairs of Power
the only people with no emotions are the one lost everything

Not if all Pakistanis ranting about 'revolution' get their lazy arses into gear and get involved in politics from the perspective of highlighting choices other than the PPP and PML and working to educate their countrymen.

Nadeem Paracha is correct in his analysis that this group from the middle classes is completely apathetic to democracy, political activism and using the ballot box for change, and instead rants about 'system is broken and revolution'.

Pakistanis can bring about a revolution at the ballot box if they so desire. The path to 'change' is open to us, we just have to become aware of it and travel it.

Nodoubt about what you said.

I was looking at different news and views about this statement and though some are indeed justified but unfortunatly some were exegerated and were more politically motivated.

i am from NWFP and i should have been more emotional to abuse him and exploite what he said, but i think we should condemn it and not to start a political battle for political interests.

after this experince these idiots will think before they speak in future

Media bombardment has started my friend.
Let us see how it affects the PML-N standing, they will lose more and more support.

yup, the media hammer seems to be out and swinging in full force. :D Ever political party has lodged a strong protest and one NWFP party member even took off her dupata and offered it to shehbaz. Dawn TV even went as far as to digging their taliban apologetic history out from the late 90's. I'm kinda glad this happened and the nation has made their stance truly clear against the evil of taliban. Good.

Shehbaz and PML-N deserves this for making such a stupid and unpatriotic comment.

I went back and listened to his comment again and this is what he said:
We (PML-N) have refused to accept or favor dictation of foreigners, never bowed down to Musharraf and have always stood up against his policies. My question is, if this is also talban's point of view, if taliban are also seeking to repel foreigner's dictation in Pakistan then they shouldn't be doing such acts in Punjab.

Now maybe I'm wrong but the interpretation that I'm getting here is that taliban aren't fighting for the cause of American-influence-free Pakistan policies but something else because if they were fighting for this cause they wouldn't be targeting Punjab as they (pml-n) are fighting for such cause.

His actual statement is a far cry from the headlines we have read in the media; i.e. Shehbaz wants Punjab to be spared at the expense of Pakistan; Shehzbaz ok with terrorist act in other three provinces as long as Punjab is not targeted and so on and so forth and also Kiyan's meeting with him was scheduled three days ago.

Either way, a man of his stature and the post and position he holds should be more careful about what he says and think certain number of times before he opens his mouth in public. Otherwise, more lambasting would in order from media and people and other political parties along with dupata and bangel tossing from the female populace.
