Featured SH15 Artillery in Pakistan

As per Indian media, PA is buying 236 SH-15 SP howitzers for US$ 512 million - enough to equip 13× regiments.

Assuming the reports true, I believe the decision resulted from the PLAGF accepting the PLC-181 into service, of which SH-15 appears to be the export version. PLAGF induction gives PLC-181 / SH-15 'economy of scale' and ensures 'on par upgrades'.
ok; I dont see how much price difference there would have been with G6 either.

.
I do think it was the price point at the end vs quality overall; just looking at that truck; it is really poor; it is not capable of traversing medium to harsh terrain more. Let us see what real battle conditions it can truly take.
its a hush hush buy seeing the environment

actually years ago, Serbian news paper said 400~ which was quoted on Quwa too!

Are you seriously?
Very serious and not joking. You need to bring those trucks here to the Namib which is where G6s and all SAMIL vehicles are tested and deployed in real combat to Angola; it is guaranteed to break that truck down in less than 200km. The thorns of Kalahari trees can cripple tyres.

When the trucks pass the test, what would be your next suggestion?

If he wants to raise anything, he should go to the Pakistan, the decision was made by the Pakistan army, let's ignored him so the thread can carry on.

G6 wasn't trialed in Pak in the first place; this discussion should be about T5-52.

Internet price estimates for G6 are US$ 3.2 million and higher.

Yes, Politika reported PA requirement was upto 500 pcs (off-the-shelf + local production). However, PA being cash-strapped means any progress in one program comes at the cost of other programs (e.g. 7.62×51 rifle program, etc).

Friend, please do your research and read on SAMIL vehicles and history of mineproof vehicles; entire pedigree is based on our platforms. I cannot help you much if you are not willing to not think. G6 can withstand a full mine blast and continue on. For PA, it was Tatra based G5 which is not the same as G6.

Norinco marketing SH-15 155 mm artillery system for export

Christopher F Foss, London - Jane's International Defence Review
06 March 2019

China North Industries Corporation (Norinco) is marketing a 155 mm self-propelled (SP) gun-howitzer (GH) called the SH-15. The system's builder is unconfirmed.

It is based on a 6×6 chassis that has a four-door fully enclosed cab at the front, with a roof-mounted 12.7 mm machine gun (MG) for self-defence.

SH-15 is powered by a 400hp diesel engine with a 15.68 hp/tonne power-to-weight ratio.

The platform is fitted with a hydropneumatic suspension system that can be locked out when deployed in the firing position, which according to Norinco helps increase "firing accuracy of all unguided projectiles by 50%" over the unstablised platform. To provide a more stable firing platform, two hydraulically operated spades are lowered to the ground on either side at the rear.

On the rear is the turntable-mounted 155 mm/52 calibre ordnance with powered traverse of 25° left and right and with powered elevation from 0° to 67.5°.

Norinco, the howitzer's sales group, is quoting a maximum rate of fire of between 4 and 6 rds/min. A flick rammer is fitted to maintain rate of fire, and a muzzle velocity measuring system is mounted above the rear of the ordnance.

Maximum range depends on the projectile/charge combination, but Norinco said it has a maximum range of 50 km when firing its High-Explosive Extended-Range Full Bore Base-Bleed Rocket-Assisted (HE ERFB-BB-RA) projectile.

It can fire conventional ammunition as well as the Norinco GP155 laser homing projectile, GP155B satellite guided projectile, and the GP155G terminally guided top attack projectile.

As the 155 mm ordnance has a 23 litre chamber that meets the Joint Ballistic Memorandum of Understanding (JBMoU), the SH-15 can also fire NATO projectiles and charges (the older bag type or the more efficient modular charge system [MCS] type). Images viewed by Jane's indicate that Chinese MCS have been used during firing trials in China.

A rumor circulating in Chinese forum when Pakistan delegates were actually in China for SH-1A but the PLA's PLC-181was also in the same testing area then they went for the PLA version.
