Several wounded in blast in Quetta

QUETTA: At least four people were injured on Tuesday when a powerful explosion took place near Liaquat Bazaar on Mecangi road in Quetta, police and rescue officials said.

The exact nature of the blast is being ascertained, police said.

Two killed, 13 injured in Quetta blast

At least two people were killed and 13 others wounded in a blast in Quetta on Tuesday, officials and rescue members said.

The blast took place near a vehicle of the Frontier Corps on Mekangi Road, according to rescue members. The wounded persons included two security personnel.

Large contingents of security and law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area shortly after the blast. However, its nature was yet to be determined.

A spokesperson for Civil Hospital Quetta confirmed that 13 injured persons were brought to them.

Condemning the bomb attack on FC personnel, Home Minister Mir Zia Langove termed it an effort to destabilise the country.

The minister directed for best medical facilities to the injured persons.
