I'm saying Altay is originated from K2, I'm not saying copy is wrong.Atleast the koreans came up with something different this time. Chinese copied a lot in past too, which changed recently.
it would be interesting if AK-II originates from ALtay.I'm saying Altay is originated from K2, I'm not saying copy is wrong.
Then PA need to adapt to it, it's totally different than your previous experience with Soviet tanks.it would be interesting if AK-II originates from ALtay.
or atleast incorporates features
Didn't knew that! Thank you!K-1 is based on M-1 Abrams.

Why you use a avatar that bust your *** in 1962.Didn't knew that! Thank you!
K2 resembles Leclerc MBT a little bit, especially the turret.it would be interesting if AK-II originates from ALtay.

It looks like the fate of both VT4 and Oplot is ultimately going to collapse as far as their induction in Pakistan armored corps is concerned. Both tanks have suffered several shortcomings and despite of application of few upgrades, none of them offered any credible dominance over AK-T80 to justify purchase of separate MBT. Last I heard that VT4 was in Rawalpindi two months ago and by then it was dominating Oplot in terms of performance. But now it looks like (lets call it rumor) that Pakistan is likely to evaluate a new MBT under the title of Al Haider. I don't want to name the tank or country but its definitely not Asian. Expect news by end of this year.
AK is often over estimated on this forum but in reality it is not as good as is claimed by some members based upon theoretical calculations. Its basic 3rd Generation MBT capable enough to take on current Indian armor but it needs some specific technical 'fixation' and rapid production in order to justify its existence as 'Tip of Sphere' of Pakistan Armored corps. Keep hopes high as far as AK2 is concerned. It will even give T90MS run for its money.
Turret is like A4 or A6 ?Design of AK2 is similar to Leo 2A4, at least the prototype did.
Turret is like A4 or A6 ?
The turret could be placed slightly forwardLeo 2A4 for now but adding ERA plates in arrow shape might make it look similar to A6. Several changes in the design are visible.
- the gun is clearly longer tan the current 48 cal gun on Alkhalid
- the gun mantlet (sky blue) is thicker than that of the Alkhalid
- the engine bay is bigger and raised slightly to accommodate a bigger engine
- turret is clearly bigger and has better front and side protection
Alas it's too heavy for the terrains we need it in and the supporting infrastructure ,Attending a scheduled field trials in Pakistan may serve the purpose to introduce the capabilities of new Altay T1 variant with Akkor APS. T1 variant have very strong skirt armor blocks (ERA), improved top turret and cage armors, angled front turret shape and Akkor APS !
VT-4 is in same weight range.Alas it's too heavy for the terrains we need it in and the supporting infrastructure ,
This was also one of the reason why army engineers ( father among the officers) rejected the Abrams in 80's too our bridges our I'll suited to support above 50~55 tons,
