LAHORE: A serial child rapist was killed in Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) police custody in Ferozewala on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said Haroon, 22, was arrested by the CIA police for abducting and raping seven minor girls in different areas of the city.

He said swabs of the suspect were taken and after forensic and DNA tests it was confirmed that he raped the minor girls after abducting them.

He said the suspect used to lure minor girls to deserted places and sexually assault them.

A police party was taking the suspect to the place where he had committed the offence when he allegedly tried to snatch a rifle from a policeman that went off, killing him (Haroon) on the spot.

It certainly is convenient but does not ensure that justice is done. How can we vouch that the accused was really guilty of said crimes when he has not gone through due process? Dead men tell no tales after all.

I believe sexually assaulted minor girls won't make up stories or will they? Then the DNA test won't lie in all seven cases or will it?

What if Justice system would have asked to produce witnesses for this low life's crime?

I've worked with the Police for joint IBOs and I don't trust them. If its convenient enough, they can easily 'construct' a case from the ground up. Good for getting rid of terrorists but dangerous because the Police can use it in vendetta cases.

What if Justice system would have asked to produce witnesses for this low life's crime?

That's the great conundrum, justice cannot be expected of the courts and neither of the Police. Which is why we need a massive overhaul of the judicio-legal system, today our lawyers and judges are part time activists, part time crooks and full time hooligans.

If you don't mind I would like to add "traitors" too to this list. Asma Jahangir would be a good example of that.

And regarding massive overhaul of judicio-legal system, we first need an overhaul of institution that is supposed to formulate our laws. Parliament.

Good. All of these pigs need to be shot in an encounter... I would love for our courts to hand out justice but the failure of our justice system puts me off. The case will go on for A while after whichbtge accused will threaten the families and bribe the judges and leave.

Till we get that system overhaul we can only find comfort in justice being done through such methods and vigilante methods.

It is too late now, people are this corrupt system. No one in Pakistan any more prefers to follow the normal Seerat E Mustaqeem, rule and law, everyone tries to find contacts, goes for bribes, political influence.

And if luckily you meet some Farz Shanas police officer, or policeman or Govt officer, you get confused, you start thinking why is he being so nice, whats the catch. Unfortunately this is the system now.
