Seminar held for homeless women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
A one-day seminar on the eve of International Women Day was held under the auspices of Social Welfare Department at Half Way House, Hayatabad Peshawar wherein the wife of KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak was the chief guest. Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Social Welfare and Women Development, Dr Meher Taj Roghani, Parliamentary Secretary, Deena Naz, MPAs, Incharge Half Way House, Deputy Director Robeena Riaz Khan, children and women housed in Half Way House attended the seminar.
Addressing the seminar, she lauded the courage of Pakistan's women residing in shelter homes, Half Way House and Darul Aman. She said these women would be provided legal assistance enabling them to solve their problems. She wished all the women and children residing in shelter homes could go back to their houses to lead a happy life.
Special Assistant to CM, Dr Meh Taj Roghani while addressing the seminar said the provincial government has passed a bill from assembly for widows and special persons whereas Women Commission Bill is under consideration. She said the services of women advocate for legal assistance to the women and children residing in Half Way House would also be provided so that the women could share their problems. Pervez Khattak's wife and Meher Taj Roghani gave away prizes among the students for their best performances in the seminar.
