Security Check Post Under Attack in Bajur Agency 3 Soldiers Martyred

Looks like Afghans are oing on the offensive here. In the coming months, it will be interesting to see how strong the attack of the Afghanistanis will be in Pakistan :pop:
A "hit and run" on a border post is not "going on the offensive". These tactics have limited variation, and the means to counter them effectively already exist (whether the resources to implement the required defensive measures are release and effectively utilized is another matter).

Airstrikes on terrorist camps in Kunar and Nuristan should be the response. Also, per day some ~3500 Afghanis cross the border into Pakistan illegally according to this report on Dawn.

RIP to the brave souls.

Cross border ops required massive intelligence gathering which is currently lacked at our side. We need to act smartly and put in place durable mechanism to prevent any cross border incursion.

I have been saying all along that Fence the damn border, which ever the cost may be. If we just secure Durand line even if we have to spend million of dollers, the returning benefits are many folds. There are vulnerable posts along South/North Waziristan, which are easy targets for terrorists across the border. One solution is to establish posts within Afghanistan at commanding heights. Other solution is to establish a "no entry zone" ahead of our posts. This zone could be establish by laying mines.

Other thing is and that the posts we have set up along these borders are mud/stone bunkers with wood branches serving as roof. These cant stand RPGs and HMG, which terrorists are equipped with.

For God sake, please built Standard reinforced concrete bunkers. Proper posts where your 10-20 soldiers can live. Please start thinking those soldiers as human and not cannon fodders. One concrete bunker will cost 1 millions rupees at most? Heck your PM house daily expense is 40 lac rupees (PKR 4 million).

And these bunkers once built will remain there even after 50 years. Why cant we? Why dont we?

I have no answer to these question. Please save lives of our soldiers.

Very well said. We can blame afghan all we want, I mean would I like to see come concrete measures from them in regards to stop in cross border infiltration? Absolutely, but it's very likely, they don't care about that.

They continue to live under some great pakhtoon delusion that the entire pakhtoon region is the same.

So, screw them, now the onus falls on us, on how can we better protect our soldiers. I won't repeat your suggestions, but in a nutshell that's what's required. If we can't give our soldiers a properly defended post to man then, please, don't send them there.

I feel like we also should flood the ISPR twitter page with this suggestion.

Heres how Afghan intellectuals see the world. Truly pathetic.

You really expect ANA to back us up on their side of the border. Living in a fools paradise.
