Scientists excited about India’s own GPS

.
That's the simplest way. China had a similar navigation system a decade ago.

but you cant nabigate precision guided bombs and ballistic missiles accurately with such a system.
something travelling at mach 5+ will be way off course in a second...

Beidou service got operational in Dec last year.

That's the second generation you talked about. The first generation of Beidou was proposed in 1983 and launched in 2003.

That's why we are building a more sophisticated system now. It's partial functional in the Asia pacific region with more than a dozen of sats right now. Eventually it will have 30+ sats and will be globally available.

Haha .. look who's talking !

Reminded me of this joke :

"Apart from water, we have discovered the presence of fishes on the moon."
-PAKISTAN

"Satellite launched by PakIstan found in the Arabian sea!"
-BBC

the laser gyroscope only tallies the current position with the help of a satellite if there is some sort of deviation the algorithms will rectify it. It is on the designers what kind of system they give priority and it is always the Internal Navigation which is given the priority.

We shall have Local Positioning systdm not Globalj. Globally only GPS available others are for local positioning.

Chineese Reaction-- Oh no,Indians are catching up here too..We can't see this,so lets bring poverty and derail the thread..

Pakistani reaction :-- Oh no,we still don't have a SLV they have launched Spy satellites and are now going for GPS!!! it's ok,we have chineese cheers (cheer leaders dance)

The reality is neither chineese or pakistanis can't stop, they can only chew jealous and spit here on forums like (un)peaceful to earn some cents per post

its so funny that indians here are complaining about the quality of Chinese products given their entire civilization is build upon Chinese products:

indians are using Chinese designed/made power generators to power its nation
indians are posting here because Chinese designed and built their backbone internet routers.
indians can now talk to their friends on mobile because 50% of mobile phones in india are designed/made by Chinese - including those base stations.

one day indian, always liar

Just cos reliance made a deal, Entire power plants use ur turbines and generators? Bulls**t.. And our internet are routed through US Mr.brilliant... probably 80pc of internet are routed through europe and US.. In india nokia samsung sony erickson are dominant players in mob... When did they become chinese?
Oh sorry i think u were talking about the cheap copies u made from their products such as NOKLA, ERIKSSAN etc
One day chinese, everyday steals

gulsar186.jpg

Enjoy ur copying skills....
And i dunno y it burns ur stomach and a$$ when india tries to develop something!!
IRNSS will be in place and it will be better... Its fa our own usage... So stop trolling...
I hope IRNSS will be in place soon...

You are talking about Indian GPS? What about Pakistani GPS?

The payloads for the IRNSS
would weigh approximately
2,000 kilograms, and would
need Geosynchronous Satellite
Launch Vehicles, or GSLVs, to
launch them.

Wrong. The IRNSS will be launched by PSLV not GSLV. Also weight is less than 2000 kg.

yes...INS usually gets preference on ballistic missiles as their path is a parabola and need to correct little deviations ...and has to hit large targets.
but in a precision guided bomb or a cruise missile which need accuracy of a few meters..and are too small for incorporation of dual navigation system.INS has to to be very accurate and preference is given to real time navigation ny satellites....which s gestationary satellite cant give...

INS needs much caliberation for accuracy....alk the land has to be surveyed for fluctuations in earths gravity and data processed and fed into the system...
has India done that survey?
