Scientists excited about India’s own GPS

that's why there is always an error with positioning system.....
i don't remember exact figure but i think GPS is having an error of 5-8 meters and glonass is having an eroor of 2-3 meter(they have done this improvement recently)....

.
its so funny that indians here are complaining about the quality of Chinese products given their entire civilization is build upon Chinese products:

indians are using Chinese designed/made power generators to power its nation
indians are posting here because Chinese designed and built their backbone internet routers.
indians can now talk to their friends on mobile because 50% of mobile phones in india are designed/made by Chinese - including those base stations.

one day indian, always liar

Did the chinese invent the power generators?
Did the chinese invent the internet routers?
Did the Chinese invent the mobile phone technology?
Did the Chinese invent the GPS?

Even US imports from China, just because it is made cheaply using Chinese slave labour.

Indian system has "less than 20 meters" accuracy.
the thing that is unclear is that is this an active navigation system like Beidou-1 or a passive system like GLONASS or American GPS.
The wiki page does not say much on the details ..
but it does mention atomic clocks in the satellite..which indicates a passive navigation system...

For any country..be it china or pakistan..the master station respondible for inputing data into the satellites by tracking them........is the prime target..
destroy the ground station and the satellites are as good as rocks in space.

The title of this thread is wrong and so is India's hallmark BANANA JOURNALISM.

GAGAN is not an indigenous satellite navigation system...its GPS signal enhancing system which has no own navigation capability..It completely relies on GPS / GLONASS for navigation signals..
This used to be called "differential gps"..
one or more ground stations are built and their position is calculated very accurately and stored in the system..
the ground station then compares the GPS position from GPS satlites and the Position stored..the stored position is known to be the correct pisition and any difference between the stored position and podition given by GPS satellite is calculated as error..
that error is then relayed to lther compatible receivers and they add or substract the error from their GPS pisition to get a pin point accurate position .
so thats just GPS augmentation not Indigenous navigation system...
the error signal can be relayed via ground baser radio transmitters or for more coverage...via satellite..and thats what india is doing...
i am not sure why india needs 7 satellites for this...or is there more to the system than just GPS error correction???
may be some other member can clarify this?

so he will understand kolaveri kolaveri ;)

When you do not know the subject why so desperate to show your little knowledge? They are no talking about GAGAN but IRNSS. Ever heard of IRNSS? Its same as GPS but it will be regional thats why 7 satellites. Before calling something that you do not understand as banana journalism try to learn something.

Actually i dont have little knowledge on the subject..i have a lot of knowledge on satellite navigation systems...Used to be my field of study at some point and i have used Omega, loran and the original SATNAV before GPS was operational.....so yeah..

Roybot has posted the links needed......your rant was not required...

 My reply was a rant but what about "Indian hallmark Banana journalism" remark that you have just passed when you did not know the subject. What kind of rant it was? You learned something new about India today, take one more advice. You always rant about degrading Indian without knowing the facts and most of the time they backfires like this one. So in future try to be smarter.

I hope atleast your knowledge about SATNAV is true.

In that news posted, I can't really find where he said.....China has only 2 satellites :woot: :china:

I believe the author purposely mislead readers by saying China just recently launch 2 satellite. This could lead uninformed read to believe that China only has launched 2 navigation satellites. This is what brought in those Chinese guy jumping up and down about the deception of that part of the article.

.
another shameless and lying indian. there are 4 satellite navigation systems that are known to the world:

Bdidou - (COMPASS) China has already in operation officially since 27 Dec, 2011:

Beidou/Compass Declared Operational, Test ICD Released | GPS World

Beidou will start covering service in Asia Pacific by the end of this year and the world in 2020!

GPS - USA - status: operational

GLONASS - Russia - status: operational

Galileo- European Union - status: in development

india - status:?

india - status?

Indi's called Big M, needless to say, very exited!

Oh yes, you bet within a year or 2, Indian "sicentists" will be exicted about Big M 2.0, 3.0... : rofl:

like what they did on Aryan 2, Insas 2, LCA 2, 6 gen FG FA... the list goes on...

They cannot bear 1.0 now Indian scientists coming with 2.0. Thats why so much frustration. Guys laugh and pass..... We will need a big mental asylum when Indians will come with 3.0 because they will go total mad.

BTW what is Aryan 2.0??? :P

So let me sum it up here. Are you saying that India's pride is always in the future projects? Is that true, Indians?

Why don't you guys check out this video to help me answer that question. Please check out the video in this link.

How about Agni 5 and IRISAT...any high IQ comments?

I comprehend your hunger for high IQ comments form mine, I really do.

So remember well another high IQ remark:

If Russian tech-enabled Agni 5 of obsolete technologies of 1970s could make your “high” IQ scientists such *excited* as if it were the best thing happened to them since the sliced bread, or that dubious “0”, then I can imagine what sort of GPS they are so *excited* about, needless to mention that I am, therefore, thoroughly convinced that in the foreseeable future an imported indoor plumbing technology of 1980s’ level (note:10 yrs more advanced than Agni 5) could take both your DRDO, DRTROLL, ISRO scientists and other Patels along your rail tracks beyond upper limit of excitement surely … non-stop orgasms and total ecstasy shall we say? Now tell me you’re excited too? :smokin:

Apparently the dudes on the board are quite conservative . I'd say Vision 2020: Superpower India , no?:azn:

Is that an example of you constant orgasm??

Russian, Israeli, American, stolen Chinese, copied North Korean.... all are examples of high IQ only.

BTW latest Russian Bulava and US latest Minuteman are 1940's technologies, slightly better than Nazi V-2. Both countries stolen these technologies from advanced Chinese missiles.......
