Scarborough Shoal: Phl facts vs Beijing fiction

The really dire issue is for the Chinese leadership as it will have to explain to the Chinese public how they lost territories (which was not their's on the first place). The Chinese public has been so brain washed of their expectations on the Spratly's as if it is reality to them

Well, by then we will have our next moon mission to collect moon rocks and be within punching distance of the US nominal GDP, and quite a few other cool things. I'm sure we'll get by.

BTW, how does it feel to be doing far worse on living standards, and a bunch of other things than a brainwashing regime. Isn't it a sexy feeling.8-)

So what? lots of things. Here's one for you:

-Assuming the Philippines win, then China will be officially declared as illegally occupying foreign territory/waters under international law. Yeah, and you still think that China will rise and draw Asian countries voluntarily under its sphere of influence when China is going to have this status of being an illegal occupying force?

But anyway, I'm not here to argue about the geopolitical implications or consequences of the tribunal. I'm only here to argue about the legal status of the tribunal and its ruling.

All your arguments are based on feelings, and not tangible power, and benefits.

The day economic and political benefits are no longer relevant, your argument that China will be a outcast will come true.

The US may be against us, but they still want us involved in a lot of different things, they maybe your friend but they are not bring you into anything major. Not that they like us more, but they trust us more.

By trust I mean they think we will deliver if there are something in it for us, but they know you can't regardless.:usflag:

in terms of the law aspect, US invaded Iraq based on false WMD reports, I'm sure we'll think of something.

If we win here, I expect China will sanction us like what the West is doing with Russia while Obama will do nothing but let the US continue to shoot its feet. I also expect Malaysia isn't going to be happy with this.
we don't sanction, we prefer to just run a trade deficit instead. See, a BMW just feels so much better having it than not having it.

Well all the treaties and historical records mentioned regarding Scarborough Shoal and other areas in West Philippines Sea (SCS) disputed waters has been superseded by UNCLOS, a convention treaty signed by Philippines, China and other nations in early 90's. UNCLOS prescribes that all member nations are entitled to 200 n. miles or 370 km EEZ ( Exclusive Economic Zone ) measured from the base line sea shore of the country. UNCLOS also gives these member countries, the sovereign rights to exploit all the marine resources ( including fish, turtles, oil, gas, sand, corals, etc ) within the EEZ of the country.

Scarborough Shoal is only about 138 miles from Zambales and clearly within our EEZ.

Therefore, the Philippines (and no other country) has the sovereign rights to all the resources in Scarborough Shoal, as well as other shoals and reefs within PH's EEZ, as prescribed by UNCLOS., So you should stay away from our EEZ.

Typical 50 cent propaganda when you can no longer rebuke with valid points.
So only distance matters? If so then Alaska should belong to Canada and Venezuela should claim Martinique!

The issue is, if China is claiming historic title to most of SCS through its 9-dash-line then it has to prove it in court hence, the need to settle these issues peacefully, like our current arbitration case.

Falklands was effectively occupied by the British for a long period of time and the inhabitants practiced self determination which is in some way is eerily similar to what is taking place in Crimea. Habitable islands have different rules in comparison EEZ where countries will have to determine the extent of their continental shelf to assert the rights on those resources.

And you never claim it until 1978, what a early stage in history!

Pinoy shall concentrate on driving out the US who disregard pinoy law, raped and killed ordinary pinoy on Philippine soil with protection from US government before talking about Scarborough shoal.
Don't use dirty words against anyone or any nation, or I will report it as I did this time.:guns:

Very exciting times for China and the Chinese. Maybe your Astronauts/Cosmonauts can take a selfie with the American flag on the background planted there half a century ago, that would be "sexy"

Our living standard is far worse? Even South Korea is way better than yours. Forget Japan, they're out of your reach.

Of course we will, only way you will ever see the moon that close again.

I'm talking Philippines and Vietnam, not America. South Korea is about the same as Japan now, dude. But I guess you like to see yourself as American, understandable.

.
When I said "our living standards" I meant the Philippines. It would be easier to ask 90% of your fellow Chinese who still live in a third world shit hole how it feels.
Dude, even 90% of the Philippines is poor as well. It sounds like you're saying we're richer than the Chinese.

Then you are also confirming in some indirect ways that the Philippines is owned and ruled by the Chinese because the 10% is basically the well-to-do and the elite, all of which are pure Chinese or have Chinese ancestry.

No I do not need to see myself as an American, I am American and I'm also a Filipino. I will die for these countries if I have to.

If China is a 3rd world shithole, the Philippines is a 30th world shithole in comparison.

China, Philippines - Infant mortality rate, Life expectancy at birth, GDP (purchasing power parity), GDP - real growth rate, GDP - per capita (PPP) - Historical Data Graphs per Year

And when one looks at the Human Development Index rankings, the Philippines are 2 or 3 spots above Iraq - yes that same country that ISIS controls and that has been in constant war for the last decade. The Philippines are barely better than that failed state. Good job on not being a "third world shit hole" Filipinos!

Which dirty word I used? Are you dumb?

He thought "Pinoy" was a dirty word even though that's how Filipinos refer to themselves. Rather than educate himself and become a little less ignorant, he'd rather report you to the mods like a snitch thereby alerting the mods to the fact that he doesn't know what he's talking about. Sheer brilliance on display.

Precisely, pinoy is a widely used mainstream word by Philippino. It used to be a degrading word but slowly accept by Philippine as a description of them. Philippine newspaper and report widely used the word pinoy to describe themselves. Nothing wrong to called pinoy.

I'm from Hong Kong, and our maids have always been Filipinos.

If we're in a "third world shit hole" as you claim, why are there so many Filipinos trying to get in?

You do realize the Mainland is significantly richer than the Philippines in all metrics?

Hell, even my small city of HK has a bigger economy than the entire Philippines (and our small city only has 7 million people). The Mainland on the other hand has over $4 trillion in currency reserves, it's in a whole different league. The Philippines will never see such an amount of money.

China's 9-Dash Claim in South China Sea is Rubbish - 10 Reasons Why

I can give you 10 reasons why Aquino cooperate with US is rubbish to pinoy.

Did America help you when we took Huangyan Island (Scarborough shoal) from the Philippines in 2012?

They don't even talk about it. All they care about is Iraq, Syria, Russia and Ukraine.
US raped and killed ordinary Philippine people while expect to go Scott free. :D
