The really dire issue is for the Chinese leadership as it will have to explain to the Chinese public how they lost territories (which was not their's on the first place). The Chinese public has been so brain washed of their expectations on the Spratly's as if it is reality to them
Well, by then we will have our next moon mission to collect moon rocks and be within punching distance of the US nominal GDP, and quite a few other cool things. I'm sure we'll get by.
BTW, how does it feel to be doing far worse on living standards, and a bunch of other things than a brainwashing regime. Isn't it a sexy feeling.
So what? lots of things. Here's one for you:
-Assuming the Philippines win, then China will be officially declared as illegally occupying foreign territory/waters under international law. Yeah, and you still think that China will rise and draw Asian countries voluntarily under its sphere of influence when China is going to have this status of being an illegal occupying force?
But anyway, I'm not here to argue about the geopolitical implications or consequences of the tribunal. I'm only here to argue about the legal status of the tribunal and its ruling.
All your arguments are based on feelings, and not tangible power, and benefits.
The day economic and political benefits are no longer relevant, your argument that China will be a outcast will come true.
The US may be against us, but they still want us involved in a lot of different things, they maybe your friend but they are not bring you into anything major. Not that they like us more, but they trust us more.
By trust I mean they think we will deliver if there are something in it for us, but they know you can't regardless.
in terms of the law aspect, US invaded Iraq based on false WMD reports, I'm sure we'll think of something.
we don't sanction, we prefer to just run a trade deficit instead. See, a BMW just feels so much better having it than not having it.If we win here, I expect China will sanction us like what the West is doing with Russia while Obama will do nothing but let the US continue to shoot its feet. I also expect Malaysia isn't going to be happy with this.
