What's new

SC temporarily bars PIA from using logo of Markhor on its planes

Since u r "old enough" to "comprehend this matter". Tell me what's the "innovation" here as u claim?

What does the PIA gain in value after spending such a large sum of money(that's borrowed from gov in the first place)?
This is what multinational companies and airlines do from time to time for marketing and attracting costumers . otherwise there would have been no need to spend million on advertisement of products .

Advertisements as in running ads on TV, billboards, newspapers, etc. increase exposure of a business to potentially new customers. The goal in that case is to attract those customers towards whatever it is u r trying to sell them. So if PIA was to do that...that's fair. I'm not arguing against running ads.

If a lawyer was to run ads in let's say a newspaper, I come across it...and call him when I'm in need of a lawyer...then that ad is doing its job. I see the ad --> I call the lawyer...and that's money well spent(on that ad).

If instead the lawyer had chosen to spend that ad money by putting a big beautiful banner in his office...then that's a stupid expense. It has zero contribution towards attracting new clients. The only clients who may see it are the ones that already were that lawyers clients.

This painting of Markhor logo would be akin to that lawyer putting that banner in his office...as in very little to no impact. I don't know about u...but I don't get to the airport...see a plane with a beautiful logo and cancel my already booked ticket just so I can book another one for the airline that has the most beautiful looking logo.

No one picks a certain airline over the others for their logo. Some of the most important factors considered are ticket prices/quality of service/comfort(or luxury).

I'm not saying that the Markhor logo doesn't look nice...it does indeed look awesome. All I'm saying is that PIA has a lot of other things that need attention...the money that it has(borrowed from gov) should be put to good use towards making it into a better service rather than making the tails of airplanes look pretty.

instead of spending the money on renovating the exterior of the Planes, the money should be spend on upgrading the interior as well as in-flight services , painting Planes wont restore faith of Passengers in PIA

what if we ban or limit Meastern airlines and spend some money on pia and upgrade interior and services dont you think pia can attract new customers? pia has some great routes the only thing lacking is service and planes are crappy!

what a chutiya judges now supreme court will decide livery of airlines .

what about bathroom comods of planes ?
may be color of tissue papers in toilets of PIA ?
what about passengers dress code ?

BC sab kam kareen gay bus apna kam nhi kareen gay saaly

The biggest drain on PIA is overstaffing. Every government that comes in...shoves in their "chamchas". Paying their salaries/benefits and then their retirement income...all of that adds up.

Banning or limiting other airlines wouldn't be healthy for PIA. It would lead to retaliation...if Pak was to limit them in Pak...they can limit PIA on their turf. The only way for PIA to compete with the likes of Emirates...is to get rid of overstaffing practices(bcuz it drains PIA's money), employ only qualified personnel(not sifarishi idiots), better their quality of service, have competitive prices of tickets...and this can restore some of the lost prestige of the past. Once a name and reputation is established, it would automatically attract more customers.

You are not understanding my point. Other services of PIA should also be improved . But overall appearance is also a part of it . Why companies continue to change their products packaging and outer design . It is continue process with real time feed back from costumers. Who will buy a classic tin can of pepsi from 90s or 80s ( no matter how good cola it contains ) as compared to other updated brands . By the way , my point was about who are judges to poke their head in matters about which they don't know an iota of information .

It is the job of the specialized graphic designers and professional technical writer to make a logo for a product or a company .

This stunt will cost 3.4 million per plane to people of Pakistan, it's not that PIA's "professionals" will pay this from their pockets. As it's said that it's not about MaarKhor on tail of Jet but HaramKhors employed in PIA.

This stunt has costed 3.4 million already . It is not being done . It has already been done . NOW restoring to original paint scheme will also cost somewhere between 2.7 to 3.4 million per plane. Now tell me which option is better i.e sticking to present color scheme or restore older paint scheme by spending 3.4 million per aircraft.

Rs 3.4 million per aircraft when the the airline is sinking in debt!!!? Now thats a classic case of misplaced priorities.

Will you board a PIA plane for its new logo? No. But you will for its better service. If its service is improved, its revenue can be increased. Changing uniforms, logos will not change PIA fortunes.

I do understand that point. It's not rocket science...it's pretty simple. It's not like, this was lost on me and others until u explained it.

The point I'm making is that, painting the tails of these airplanes at such a price would yield diminishing returns.

The current look of the planes isn't that ancient that it needs replacement urgently. PIA has limited funds and whatever funds are available need to be prioritized. On this list of priorities, changing the look of planes should be last.

This wouldn't be a problem if PIA wasn't running in a net loss year after year. If they can turn profitable...then they can afford such luxury. Until then PIA has to be shrewd about how it spends its limited funds...and if those dimwits in charge of PIA can't see that then I'm glad Supreme Court is doing something about it.

MaarKhor on tail of Jet but HaramKhors employed in PIA.

Maakhor & HaramKhor. :lol::lol:

These HaramKhor would have given this logo redesign project to some favorite. Getting commission from them and buying some property abroad. This is how our country has been looted and so far this model has been successful.
