Saudis turn to religion to bend Pakistan's Yemen policy

3) Afghanistan was a disaster and that was the last time we sided with saudi arabia to invade another country. Look how that turned out. The locals hate us and if we go running into Yemen to take bullets meant for Saudis we will suffer.

4) We are fighting a war on terror at home, at times the LEJ has been funded by Saudi sheikhs.

5) Saudi wants a secular institution, the Pakistan Army, to screen out shia soldiers and use only sunnis in the fight,

8) Now lets explore our help to the Arabs. We sent pilots (Sattar Alvi and Saiful Azam) in the 6 day war
.

Meray piaray Bhai Jaan

here is the answer to your 3 most important points (the rest are not worth discussing. sorry).

3). Afghanistan debacle happened because we ALL had to use Jihadis against much bigger supper dupper power of the time called Soviet Union aka Commies.

This time around we are talking about regular soldiers to bring peace in a war torn country aka Yemen.

Entirely different scenario and yet you lump them together with no consideration whatsoever.

4) KSA and Gulf both have strengthened money flow controls towards anti-state groups in Pak, and this is the MAIN reason, Taliban have run out of resources. Couple that with intense force applied by Pak army, and Talib-astards have nowhere to hide.

So again you are totally misrepresenting the sitatuion. Sadly.

Oh and if we have 20,000 troops in Gulf a20,000 in KSA, we'll have added pressure on Saudis and gulfies to do all kind of things in addition to controlling any future flow of funds to anti-pakistan forces.

5) This is valid point. Saudis did do this in the past, and Pak army has supplied troops. I am against that.
Now that KSA is in a huge bind, I believe we have an upper hand to dictate terms such as to innclude Shias and other non-Muslim Pak soldiers.

8) Aliv shalvi is a minor thing. The real support was by the then Brig Zialhuq who utterly destroyed Palestinian uprising against King of Jordan. And this my friend is something all Arab leaders still remember.

So please calm down bhai jaan. Do not butcher history and present.

Thank you.

Stop with the Shia-Sunni drama now, maybe you should try and move to the Kingdom if you are so loyal to it than even your own country - the only bad that they wont offer you the nationality.

More loyal to Sultan than Sultan himself. Sums it up.

You should move to Qum... along with your brigade... which is a common route of all wanted Pakistanis.

One Muslims is brother to Another , so by this logic we will not kill any yemani :D

Turn the pages of History...you have a record of doing it be it Bangladesh or Palentine. It is really funny to see Pakistanis demonstrating against the Israelis blaming them of killing Palestinians ...and they forget the fact that in 1971 (then Brigadier) Gen. Zia Ul Haq lead Pakistani Army massacred 30,000 Palestinians in the Black September in Jordan.

Avoid wasting your time by quoting people who are in another plane of existence and have a new made-up story to share every other post. TY.

Bhai Jaan

I understand what you are saying and you have a valid point overall.

However your terms "Gen. Zia Ul Haq lead Pakistani Army massacred 30,000 Palestinians" is way out of league.

Gen. Zia back then was a 1-star aka Brigadier deputed in Jordan.

Palestinians started uprising against Jordan gov, like you in India saw Punjabi Sikh uprising, Naga uprising, and we in Pakistan have seen Talib-astard uprising.

In all such militant uprisings, a strong gov will crush the militants. Indian army did that to Sikhs, Pak army is doing it against Talbastards, and Jordan did that to Pali militants.

Just want to make sure you do not suffer from anti-Pakistan Pro-India (even though both your flags are UK) emotional attack.

Brigadier Zia who was in Jordon for Jordanian military training led Pakistani army during black September? Surely, lets turn the pages of history one more time.

Zia and the Palestinians - Tayyab Siddiqui

Zia and the Palestinians

From Print Edition

President Zia’s air crash, like other political deaths in Pakistan, still remains a mystery. His personality and policies evoke extreme comments and emotions, based on a thicket of fact and fiction. One such subject is Zia’s alleged role in the killing of Palestinian in September 1970 in Jordan (“Black September”). There have been fanciful scenarios. The facts are as follows, based on my personal observations and involvement, because I held the charge of the mission in the ambassador’s absence.

Following the June 1967 military debacle, the Arabs requested Pakistan for military training. Pakistan sent training contingents to Syria, Jordan and Iraq. The mission in Jordon consisted of some 20 senior officers drawn from the three services. The team was led by Maj Gen Nawazish Ali, assisted by Brig Ziaul Haq (Armoured Corps), Brig Iftikhar Rana (Artillery), and Col Yaseen Malik (Infantry). The air force was led by Commodore Anwar Shameem, who later became chief of the PAF.

The team’s mandate was limited to training the formations of the Jordanian Defence Forces and had no combat role. In June 1970, an antiaircraft regiment arrived in Amman at the request of King Hussein for the protection of Jordan’s air space against violations by Israeli and Syrian planes, but it had no combat role or capacity.

The presence of the Pakistan training mission against this backdrop soon pulled it into the vortex of Arab intrigues and conspiracies. Its presence was magnified and exaggerated by vested groups. Our ambassador in Delhi had cautioned us against the surreptitious induction of Indian army officers belonging to RAW in PLO and PFLP ranks. Their assignment was to sow doubts and misgivings regarding Pakistan among Palestinians.

It was Sept 2 when I received a call from Brig Zia, informing me that the king had asked him to take over the command of the 3rd Armoured Division stationed in Irbid, a town close to the Syrian border. Syria had moved with an armoured brigade into Jordan. Maj Gen Qasim Motta, the Jordanian commander, had deserted and Zia was asked to take over.

Since the ambassador and Gen Nawazish were both out of Jordan, I was chargé d’affaires, and Zia the senior-most army officer. Zia told the king that he would need political clearance from the embassy before he responded to the request. I told Zia that the contingent’s mandate was not to fight, and hence I would need permission from Islamabad.

Telephone connections were dead. There were no cipher links either. The only communication link was telex based on Morse code. After a few hours’ effort, I established contact with Foreign Secretary Sultan Mohammad Khan, who declined to give any instructions and advised me to contact the military brass. Finally, I reached Mr Ghiasuddin, then Secretary General, Defence.

To my utter horror, without a moment’s hesitance, Ghias gave me the green signal. When I tried to explain the implications, I was cut short with a brief remark: “We had Istikhara, Hashmite Kingdom’s star is ascendant [sic]. Go ahead. Follow king’s commands [sic].” That the foreign and defence policy of Pakistan was formulated not on a dispassionate analysis of the situation but on the dubious religious invocation still amazes me.

Brig Zia accordingly took over the command in Irbid, but before any major military operation could be taken the Syrians, under intense pressure from the US and Israel, withdrew. This was the sum total of Pakistan’s involvement or Zia’s role in the alleged massacre of the Palestinians.

It is generally believed that Zia had been instrumental in the killing of thousands of Palestinians and that Arafat had vowed never to trust Pakistan or forgive Zia. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Arafat visited Pakistan three times during Zia’s regime and met him at summits of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference and the Non-aligned Movement. During my assignment in Cairo as Pakistan’s ambassador (1997-1999), I had quite a few occasions to meet Arafat during Arab League meetings and found no bitterness in him about Zia’s alleged role as “Butcher of Palestinians.”

Gen Ziaul Haq is also known as the "Butcher of Palestinian"...not rewriting history but a fact that most Pakistanis are never taught of...in other words selective amnesia that Pakistanis suffer from.

1. Palestine-Jordan was an internal issue of some other country and Pakistan was remotely related in that dispute...but Pakistan Army went and butchered nationals from other countries unlike Punjab & Nagaland issues which are completely internal.
2. My both flags are British because I am Living here and I am a citizen of Britain...however I am born and brought up in India....Assam to be precise...and I am very well aware of the happenings in the NE India.

and hence the strong language against Pak army.

I don't think I used any strong language against the Pakistan Army. Kindly read my comments again I haven't used any harsh words...I just wrote something that most Pakistanis failed to mention. And I have realised that I have managed to shock some....as they were unaware of the Black September and Pakistan Army's involvement.
BTW the word is "BHARATIYA" not Bharti...

It is incorrect that Saudi, UAE or any other arab country has come to aid us whenever it is needed. They talk like we have a responsibility to join the war in Yemen on their side but a history will tell us where any gulf country has ever come to our aid.

1) Pakistan fought at least 5 wars with India. No arab country provided a single ounce of support, now they are talking like they owe us something and we have to come to their aid in Yemen just because their ground forces are either too weak or they are racist... as Pakistani blood flowing for someone elses war is cheap.

2) There are more Indians working and living in the GCC than Pakistanis. Both Saudi and UAE have a large population of Indians and smaller concentrations of Pakistanis. If they wanted to help us they would use only Pakistani labour. We have a large enough labour force to abide.

We already have a shia sunni problem at home, daily killings at the hands of the Taliban and we are eager to join yet another useless war.

5) Saudi wants a secular institution, the Pakistan Army, to screen out shia soldiers and use only sunnis in the fight, are we going to surrender the secular structure of the army?

6) Pakistan has no position in the Arab League. India is an observer member in the Arab League however. Why is Pakistan not there, because we are slaves?

PS edit

7) The Arabs are regularly given hunting licenses and some have hunted over a hundred birds, which bird, the houbara bustard that is at risk of extinction.

8) Now lets explore our help to the Arabs. We sent pilots (Sattar Alvi and Saiful Azam) in the 6 day war and in the Yom Kippur war.Even that with some cheap syrian aircrafts. We are one of the only sides with kills against Israeli pilots who are far more powerful than the middle eastern state armies,

So the onus is on Arabs to prove good allies.
Thank you

You didn't get what I implied there, reread my post. I would love to be corrected, wouldn't mind the origin of rectifier. But one who's to rectify others has to be rectified first. That's why I said "lets turn the pages of history one more time"

Mate, the fact is Brigadier Zia never lead any Pakistani armoured division or as per you Pakistan army. Pakistan army mission which was sent to Jordon after 1967 war to train Jordon military consisted of roughly 20 officers. Now this means no Pakistani troop or tank took part in that conflict. On Jordon's king wish brigadier Zia lead Jordanian armored division that too in his own capacity, the government of Pakistan or GHQ was not principally involved. Zia was almost on the edge of getting court martialed for violating the mandate given to him but general Gul Hassan saved him.

Being citizen of any country doesn't change your ethnicity.
First flag represents ethnicity and second flag your country of residence
