I don't know how anyone could defend this cynically barbaric discrimination. This has absolutely nothing to do with Religion, the religious establishment know this and the Royal Family knows this, this laws are in place for their own political self-interest, namely to subjugate women and society so they can stay in power.

It is fuc...ed up I agree but it is not dumb. With each year the support for the religious clergy within Saudi society is declining. Soon they will be in the minority then the government will be free to nip and tuck at the rules.

Forcing radical change is a big mistake many countries have fell for.

In Islam woman has the right to do any job except some if she can do it within Hijab . during our prophet time they use to ride horses then why not car in this days ? i am totally surprise and bewilder reading this news . what kind of crime woman are committing by driving car ? in my knowledge at best they could have face some physical/genital problem due to driving car or motor cycle but Islamic rule are not violated by this . i hope Saudi ruler cancel her punishment and abolish this ridiculous law . my support and sympathy with the woman . When execution by beheading is done in public grounds for everyone to watch, I suppose this too will happen in public.

Mostly they whip the legs, some times upper part of legs and upper back. Although I have seen pictures of men getting whipped mostly on the butt.
