Saudi petrochem giant opens tech centre in Bangalore (India)

He was rich before he came here.

He's a close friend of the King.

Those are not the only reasons. There are some altruistic ones too (among others).
Govt of KSA (and the Ruling Family) has genuinely tried to bring some stabilisation on many occasions to the instability and mayhem that plagues Pakistan so frequently. KSA really does not want Pakistan to implode.

But apart from that KSA does not want to lose its grip on Pakistan and its matters, at the same time.

.
@Armstrong @Aamna14 .... why do you expect KSA not to invest in India? Its as much a business decision (as political if you are implying so)
Has pakistan do enough to keep KSA away from doing business with India?

There are many think tanks who predict International Equations will change after 2017, as US-Iran ties grow which means US wont need KSA very much and therefore reduced importance of Israel.

Do you believe this?

Well depends on from where you're looking at it. I only asked a question that why would KSA not support us in our stance against India when they have claimed on various occasions that we have been their brotherly ally. To me it doesn't make sense until and unless they genuinely do support us in some of these issues i can't for one take it as anything but playing safe and a mere act of lip service.

They support you as much as you support them. Does not mean their world begins and ends with your country's world view. Besides, they are the elder brother(senior partner in relationship) hence got some more freedom. lolz
I think saudis will never allow you to fail financially, they will be ready to give you a blank check,
something your other brother(the iron one) wont do.

.
So the 'terrorist funding, fundamebtalist wahabi, oil barron, Muzzlim money' from 'lizard eating, throat cutting, backward Saudi Arabia' being injected into the 'world's largest democracy' the all perfect 'shining India' is now 'kosher'???

@Yzd Khalifa @al-hasni @JUBA @Mosamania

You evil, viagra consuming sand lickers must be 'honored' to have the 'next superpower' and the 'bastion of human equity' accept your 'investment'...ain't you. :D

oh boy, the things money makes these otherwise hibitual Saudi bashing Indians do...... Never mind.. :coffee:

Avoid sarcasm.

That is a possibility certainly.
Did you read the news about USA now becoming the Oil "top-dog" or something to that effect recently?
So there is a "huge churn" that is taking place. The impending Nuclear Deal between USA and Iran is one of them; just as the events in Syria was also part of it.
I think that its indicative of waning interest of the USA in the ME and its amenability to let the Arab Spring take its own confusing direction. US interest seems to be migrating.

So far as Israel is concerned; American interest there is controlled by something else. But perceptible shifts will take place upto a point.
And KSA-Israeli relations are not exactly unfriendly nor are they heading in that direction, are they?

Please i never claimed the world begins and ends with my country so don't add such dramatics i only meant support and as much as you claim there isn't any except sheltering our leaders in exile and taking advantage of that later. I know you are an Indian so its not something i would consider you would understand. Though i agree with a few posters here when they said that most Indian posters have and still bash Pakistanis for being slaves of arabs and the same people now have changed their stance completely its hilarious in fact to see the sudden change of heart.

Well, you want saudis to have your world view, so much so that, they wont invest in India. Is not that a big expectation?
why are we talking foreign relation in a thread about business investment anyway?

About being slaves, its a strong word(dont know the context in which it was said so cant comment), but many pakistani posters point out enermous saudi influence in your govt, especially current administration (and its not the only one).
This is a business investment, and we dont become slaves by getting it. There is no change of hearts, I would welcome business investment from pakistan too. Bania jo hoon!!!

If I may say so; you seem to be reducing the issues to gross over-simplification. And doing some injustice to KSA in the process.
Their support to you has been clearly unequivocal in helping to cool down and stabilise matters internally in Pakistan on numerous occasions. The fact that they provided refuge to your politicians is clearly indicative of that. That helped to bring down the internal heat in Pakistan to a great measure. Their economic support to Pakistan on so many occasions is also well known. They have helped Pakistan out in external matters too. Nawaz Sharif's trip to Clinton in Washington was arranged through the good offices of KSA and specifically a Prince of the Ruling Family. That helped to avoid the Kargil Crisis from snow-balling into a Disaster. They performed a similar role in the Raymond Davis imbroglio.
In short KSA has been a very calming and stabilising influence. Don't friends do that? Of course; it came with other activities too, but they were based on policies and intentions which had their own basis, right or wrong.

So do you think that they should extend a "blank-check" to you? That does not happen in the real world. The real world is multi-lateral with infinite shades of grey.

Even your other friend and ally; China has been careful to caution you on so many occasions. The last such one was in 1999 when it advised your Govt. to vacate Kargil instead of pursuing a suicidal misadventure.

That is what friends, esp good friends do; help you to not do something utterly stupid.
I do think that KSA has helped you to do that as well.

Well it all started because i wanted to know why such discrepancies existed i guess a couple of other posters as well were discussing on the same lines. I know since i got personally been told how much of an arab lover and slave i was just because i replied in favour of some policy of KSA and how we beg them and so and so. I never said you become slaves by getting it just showing you the hypocrisy of most Indian members though thankfully there are some sane ones too. I have a right to be against a policy be it a business investment or a political stance just like everybody else here and thats what i did.
Bania??:what:

Thats you're own assumption that we want a blank check being handed by them we aren't slaves like most of you're Indian posters like to shove at us. Anyways my questions were directed at a Saudi and a Pakistani because only a Saudi could give me his views on the topic as i was curious about it. You don't have to tell me what KSA has done for us or anybody else i can see that all for myself.

I do not consider you to be anything; only you can know what you are.
As for knowing what KSA has done for you; the posts of some of you here displays some fog alright.
But the facts remain as they are.

No obviously you don't i am just telling you how the same thing gets treated by Indians nothing else. Facts i won't say so anyways its wasn't related to India so i don't see any need for you to jump in defence.

I have nobody to defend here. Not the KSA anyway. Their policies are connected to them, not me.
First some motley guy here says that Indians hate Saudis in a post that was just full of colorful gibberish.
Then you assume that I (as an Indian) believe that you are a slave to somebody or the other. I do not. Neither you nor I are slaves of anybody. You are as much free as I am.
