Dammam – Royal Saudi Navy is preparing to hold exercises “Gulf Shield 1” in the Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and Oman Sea as of next week.

Royal Saudi Navy Commander Abdullah al-Sultan said that “Gulf Shield 1” will include ships, planes, marines and other personnel taking part.

Sultan said that “Gulf Shield 1” is part of a series of exercises the fleet has carried out in the area aiming to raise combat readiness, gain the necessary skills, and improve ability to perform the essential leadership services.

The maneuvers aim to improve skills for defending the country’s borders, protecting sea lanes “and to deter any aggression or potential terrorist operations,” added the navy commander.

He also pointed out that the maneuvers reflect the exceptional performance of the Royal Navy that was possible because of the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Retired Navy Commander Amer al-Ameri said that Saudi Arabia owns the best navy in the area. He stated that through “Gulf Shield 1”, Saudi Arabia is sending political, military and security messages.

Ameri pointed out that the maneuvers will be executed in the international waters of the Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and Oman Sea stressing that it is the right of Saudi Arabia to defend its territories.

He added that Saudi Arabia has the ability to be present in the waters if needed.

Well done and we need to do more to secure the Arabian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz from any terrorist threat.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Not in historical facts .... international norms and regulations have nothing to do with beauty ..... if they are really thirsty for beauty then they can make their own history and culture , stealing other nations heritage and history not only isn't described as beauty by any sense but is considered as an ugly phenomena ....
For example Windcatcher are a traditional Persian architectural element to create natural ventilation in buildings :

And all the sudden the UAE invented this:

After that ship from UAE was blown to pieces they now want to hold a naval exercise to hopefully take attention away from their retarded competency.

What's arabian gulf? name of a toilet?

Persian gulf and strait of Hormoz are Iran's backyard. Your pathetic navy can't even secure its ships against barefoot Houthis which blown to pieces one of your ships few days ago. Just imagine what Iran will do to you. Without papa US, even the Houthis would have probably conquered your "country".

 great tactical competence here, all in a line with no cover, no one even manning the AFV's guns  if we do have a war, I really hope the Saudi's never do this, they are sure to destroy Iran be utterly decimated.

By the way, learn some geography you moron, there is no such thing as the "Arabian" Gulf.

Congratulations, you finally made a thread that isn't about Iran. Good going.
At this rate, he might have 1 post every month that isn't about Iran.

IRGC Warns S. Arabia to Stay Away from Iran's Waters in Military Drills -farsnews.com

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy in a statement on Wednesday warned Saudi Arabia against any move under the pretext of military drills which would endanger security and stir tension in the Persian Gulf.

"We declare to all the vessels present in Saudi Arabia's stated wargames, including the Saudi navy's vessels and others, that the IRGC Navy believes that principally, these drills are a clear instance of stirring tensions and weakening sustainable security in the Persian Gulf," the statement said.

The comments came a week after the Saudi navy said it plans to stage drills in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz in the near future.

Stressing that passage of the military vessels participating in the wargames through Iran's territorial waters will not be allowed at all, it warned the Saudis not to even sail through the international waters near the Iranian waters.

"The IRGC Navy and the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army are fully prepared to maintain sustainable security in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz and will properly and rapidly confront any move, attempt and measure to disturb tranquility and security in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman," the statement added.

The Saudi media had reported late September that the country's navy will hold exercises in the Persian Gulf and the strategic Strait of Hormuz soon.

Exercise “Gulf Shield 1” will also take place in the Sea of Oman, with ships, planes, marines and other personnel taking part, said Royal Saudi Navy commander Abdullah Al Sultan.

Gulf Shield 1 is part of a series of exercises the fleet has carried out in the area, Sultan said in comments cited by the official Saudi Press Agency.

The maneuvers aim to “raise combat readiness” and improve skills for defending the country’s borders, protecting sea lanes “and to deter any aggression or potential terrorist operations”, the SPA report said.

I think Saudi Arabia under the rule of King Salman doesn't care whether Iran is pissed of or not regarding the Saudi military moves in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and sea of Oman.
IRGC must stay silent and observe the drill without doing any stupid move that may cause a regional and direct war.

we will wait for the news of your ships in the strait of Hormuz, but it will be an everlasting wait!

Telling an enemy to stay out of our territory is not by any means a stupid move.

We didn't even need to warn you, we could have waited for you to do it and sent a couple of Persian Gulf missiles without warning.

Of course Saudis are not stupid to do such move, or else your navy will suddenly be in bottom of Persian Gulf waters. Iran has every right to warn them to stay out of its territorial waters or in other words, simply piss off, and they will.

@alarabi

Look at how angry and obsessive Iranians get when that small and shallow body of water is not called what they want it to be called. Despite the fact that their Greek conquerors gave the name of that small shallow water and despite the fact that much older civilizations and cultures (almost all Semitic) in the Arab world such as Dilmun (KSA, Bahrain and Eastern Arabia in general) , Sumer (Southern Iraq and Kuwait), Magan (Oman) etc. bordered that small shallow body of water millennia before anything such as Iran even existed as an entity.

It is like they think that they own this small shallow body of water despite them being the only non-Arab country bordering that water and despite the Arab countries having much longer sea borders along that small shallow body of water.

Anyway since they have no other body of water named after them, I believe that we 500 million Arabs, should not bully them by changing the "official" name as it clearly pains them a lot.:omghaha:

Anyway even their official name in Farsi of that small shallow body of water contains an Arabic name. Khalij e Fars.:omghaha:

Especially as we have an entire OCEAN named after us (Arabian Sea) and literary dozens upon dozens of other bodies of water be it seas or gulfs. Or the fact that the Arabian Peninsula is the largest peninsula in the world, that half of the Mediterranean Sea is bordered by Arab states, that the Arab world has sea borders that are over 50.000 km long etc. From the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea to the Arabian/Sea/Indian Ocean.

No coastline, the Arabian Sea is a small shallow body of water as well.:omghaha:

I mean they already border the Sea of Oman and the wider Arabian Sea.

So from now on we should call Iran an Sea of Oman country or an Arabian Sea country. Let the midget bark is my point here.

As if that threat only works as a one-way street. Silly internet warriors as usual.

Also many of the Arabs in Iran live along the Gulf and the other part is Baloch although those guys actually border the Sea of Oman.

Farsis on the other hand traditionally lived in the arid and sparsely populated center of Iran.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_of_Oman

Anyway let them call the Arabian Sea for the Iranian Sea. Let us see how many pfucks Arabs will give. None at all. I suspect that many Arabs do not even know that we have a big sea called the Arabian sea to begin with let alone other dozens of seas named after areas in the Arab world.

It was a small exercise. Nothing like those seen in the past few years which were the largest in the MENA region and Muslim world.
