Saudi defence minister in Pakistan

O boy, some angry people here with their respective sectarian leanings, we should help fulfull our promise to defend Saudi territorial integrity but they should also deepen their relationship with us, military and economic. Under no circumstance shud we be attacking any other country.

India is capable enough for limited conventional war. They already adopted this doctrine. Pakistan doesn't seem to have deep penetration strike strategy.
come on there is nothing like limited war. its upto the other country whether it keeps it limited or not.

Are the Saudis going to invoke the defense pact because they lost 15km of barren land that borders Yemen? It's one thing for the House of Saud to rally the "Ummah" for defense against a 300,000 Iranian Normandy landing, but quite another for it to demand Brigades of Pakistani soldiers or Battalions of SSG against guerrilla forces.

You naively underestimate the extent of the paranoia that Saudis suffer from in regards to Iran. This paranoia has well and truly speed up their demise.

One quick look on the outside suggests SA have bigger problems than Iran looming in their near future. An unstable southern neighbour who are angry and on their doorstep, an Eastern Province that have suffered greatly under the Wahhabi regime, falling oil prices heavily impacting their economy and various parties within the monarchy vying for power. On top of this their biggest ally, US, are trying to distance themselves as they're PR disaster.

It's just tragic it took this long for the sewers to come calling.

I respect your opinion. But Pakistan is my mother, it gave me so much and can't leave alone and handover to some religious lunatics.....there are thousands like me...face the reality , I know a good life and secure future outside Pakistan. But, who will think of millions of Pakistani who has no future and victim of greedy politicians, who sacrifice the national interest for short gains.....

Just take a look at the psyche of that idiot who replied to you. He sums up the Pakisyani Sunni psyche. He doesn't want to militarily slap America, China, Britain, Germany. Those with the most powerful military institutions, he wants Pakistan to 'slap' and check Iran. It goes to highlight the extent of their ambition. The sad and amusing part is that even the Iranians would give Pakistan a hiding, such is their fall.

Like I said, the world races ahead while Sunnis are too busy being content in joining the Arabs rolling around in their own faecal matter while pointing fingers at Iran. This is the extent of their ambition. Not only have Sunnis enabled Arabs to bastardise our culture they've gone one step further in typical fashion and taken on their mindset.

If you want to deal with people like him on a daily basis, be my guest, but Pakistan has no future.

The amount of "support" the Bahraini people got from Iran is nothing compared to the support given to the Syrian Civil War.

1. I honestly HOPE they don't. Bcz there is obviously no need for that at the moment.

2. That's also absolutely true.

We need to stay neutral but at the same time abide by that which we have agreed to do. Integrity of Saudi soil and its protection has been a point over which the Saudi monarchy has Pakistani forces' unflinching support. However PA should not be used for aggressive designs by the monarchy.
As to India getting Billions and you getting FCUK all, you got plenty of opportunities and spoilt them with petty thieving. You therefore lost all respect in the Kingdom and they felt their investment was not safe. If Pakistan and its business community had half a pea sized bit of honesty there would have been Saudi money and UAE money flooding in to Pakistan and you would have achieved your desire of a couple of trillion dollars economy, while developing yourself. You have no one to blame but yourselves for the fiasco.

Since i have never seen it or read this so called agreement "defense pact" no comments,. And far as business and investment is concerned, if we are not trustworthy, then why bother asking us for help, why not go to the ones they trust.

I love it how I (Average Pakistani) to be blamed for the condition the economy is in, last I checked it was miserably failed Pro Ummah foreign policies of previous governments that destroyed Pakistan and brought the economy to its knees.

Investors fled Pakistan because Saudi funded mullah terrorist and their supporters took control of every thing in Pakistan not because I am a thieve. Saudi money flooded terrorist sanctuaries throughout Pakistan, UAE was funding Baluch separatist.

To top it all of now that most like me (Average Pakistan) are becoming vocal and saying no more of the same old, you are trying to convince me, i am wrong, but if we are to do what we did before this time it will be OK, Really!!!!!

Actually it was just a protoclic visit and had nothing to do with the war in Yemen.
He visited pakistan because there will be a visit for Saudi Defence minister and his team to India in the upcoming weeks which many economic agreements will be signed with India Gov and Companies.

If there is any written agreement between Pak-Saudi govt for protection of holy cities, then give protection. But not use Pak army as mercenary to attack other countries. After Afghan war Pakistan seen the biggest brain drain and financial drain from Pakistan in history.

KSA is independent country, they don't need to do that. If Saudi are so much concern then they need to sign a long term strategic partnership with Pakistan. Like recently, US-India sign strategic logistic treaty. Pakistan army and govt lately found many incursion from Indian side in political columns. Extreme unrest in Baluchistan and business hub Karachi.

It was years of stupidity that got the House of Saud were they are now.

Stupidity over economics, government policy, and the constant desire to view every issue through the prism of Shia-Sunni.

I'm Muslim, but I was honored to be the 'godfather' to a Jewish son a friend of mine had. Not all alliances or interests align with religious background.

I'm just grateful they've fallen straight down a blackhole and taken all the Arabs with them. A strong Arab world would have been devastating for Pakistan given their influence within the Sunni population which is vastly illiterate, uneducated and unpatriotic.

Just to touch on one of your points. The biggest misconception is that the Saudi elite saw this whole issue through a 'Shia-Sunni' or a religious lens. They have never cared for the religion, their very formation was based on nationalism and in turn 'backstabbed Muslims'. All they ever wanted was total dominion over the region, prior to Iran's rise they had a hawkish enmity to other countries such Egypt and Iraq under Saddam, both Sunni led countries. As for Iran, it never threatened SA.

Religion is personal and should never be a limiting factor when it comes to your social circle. In the West, we are truly fortunate to meet people from all walks of life. Personally, exc Pakistanis, I've found myself having a lot more in common with non-muslim than Muslims.

On a final note, why should Pakistanis have any beef or qualms with Jews or Israelis. It's absurd, Pakistan should have established a co-ordial relationship with Israel a long time ago. To be completely frank, Israel has inadvertently been a blessing to Pakistan.

We are fighting Syrian war for our strategic interests !!!

What's your strategic interests in yemen?

vehemently pursuing CPEC to revitalize our economy for the sake of 200 million tummys and to equip our military machine with cutting edge weaponry to keep India at bay-----in other words, to get our rightful status of an assertive regional power

.
Honestly we need to make a shift in our policies where we distance ourselves from the Gulf states to some extant. CPEC really is bad news to some countries (i.e UAE) and they will use dirty tactics to undermine the "miskeen bakistanis"
