The Antonov AN-132 is used in military transport including individuals and equipment, as well as the transfer of electronic warfare equipment and limited aerial sniping.

The Saudi-Ukrainian aircraft, with its multiple functions and light weight, has the capacity to fly 28,000 feet with a load of 9.2 tons and a distance of at least 2,200 km. It can travel more than 4,500 km without a load and at a speed of 550 km per hour.

Interesting.

Saudis are just too slow... maybe lazy. With an $80 billion defence budget (third largest in the world) Saudia Arabia does not even build its own fighter aircrafts - does even have a submarine. Shocker.

I pray Saudia Arabia will organise its defence sector very quickly.

The thing about their system is, changes can happen overnight unlike our systems where things take decades to even move a muscle.

So maybe right now you don't see them making anything; 5 years down the line, you'd see Saudis having a complete aerospace and defence industry.

That's the advantage of a benevolent authoritarian system.

Only catch here is that the system is excellent till it remains benevolent. Otherwise it become a North Korea.

Exactly my point.

We south Asians are brainwashed and very risk averse to trying out new political models of governance which may actually benefit us more.

It is easier to rant the old narrative of foreign systems which are established and give more money to our corrupt politicians and bureaucrats than to initiate a change, struggle for a few days and then live a better life later.

Ukrainian company build factory in UK with SA funds .......... Interesting :-)

They will build the factory in UK so the Brits can run it. Almost every major project is run by Brittish folks in the GCC.
