NEOM needs also a high speed railway connection. I can see it only goes north to Yanbu

Yea of course, Saudis need more high speed rail so that they can instantly transport and watch all those Nude Samba Brazilian dancers live.
That is all a twisted mind can come up with? HaHaHa!

RR is good for populated countries and SA isn't as populated
I mean it's better than wasting money but still imo I am not too sure about this one

This include Merchandise transport trains.. much better than just trucks.. and much faster..
The human transport trains are mainly connecting the densely populated areas..

I hope not. The hyperloop is untested garbage. Rail is an actual viable solution.

NEOM is also garbage for largely similar reasons.

We all saw these defeatist videos..

What you should know is when KSA or UAE announce something officially it means there are comprehensive studies that have been done..This is not kids' stuff..

Except there haven't been comprehensive studies. Its another one of their pet projects in flights of fancy by their privileged and spoiled crown princes that they half-assedly conjured up. And they are surrounded by yes men who are too scared to tell them that these ideas are just dumb.

90% of these "mega-projects" pitched by the UAE and Saudi Arabia never come to fruition and are basically just massive wastes of money and time. If NEOM actually becomes a thing, it will basically be a ghost town for the next century. Its a inexcusable waste of money. They haven't even filled up or fully developed the cities that the previous king laid out and planned and they want to build an even larger and more expensive one? It's not realistic.

Saudi Arabia should focus on improving and actually filling up KAEC before doing this NEOM nonsense.

The test took place on Sunday afternoon at the company’s DevLoop test track in the desert outside Las Vegas, Nevada. The first two passengers were Virgin Hyperloop’s chief technology officer and co-founder, Josh Giegel, and head of passenger experience, Sara Luchian. After strapping into their seats in the company’s gleaming white and red hyperloop pod, dubbed Pegasus, they were transferred into an airlock as the air inside the enclosed vacuum tube was removed. The pod then accelerated to a brisk 100 miles per hour (160 km/h) down the length of the track, before slowing down to a stop.

It’s an important achievement for Virgin Hyperloop, which was founded in 2014 on the premise of making Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk’s vision of a futuristic transportation system of magnetically levitating pods traveling through nearly airless tubes at speeds of up to 760 mph (1,223 km/h) a reality.

These are concrete solid projects on the ground.. KSA, neither Elon Musk.. will wait for some nobody on a forum to tell it what is right or not right to do.. there are very comprehensive studies done before announcements at this scale..
