I would rather say that over the sea or under the sea roads will not be best solution in immediate future rather modern fast ferries can be very useful. Once the trade begins and the real trade volumes are known, accurate predictions can be made and alternatives including, but not limited to, under-sea or over the sea connections can be made where feasible. Right now the focus should be on making it successful and secure trade link with ample scope for future expansion but take things gradually in stepwise manner that can be achieved instead getting overwhelmed by complexity and cost of project and nothing is achieved. Plus building the castles in the air is not illegal but real world is slightly different though.
Logically there can be two routes
Out Bound Traffic:
Route to Africa (Short Ship + Road)
- Gwadar (Pakistan) - Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) - Egypt - Africa (Ship 1-2 days then 7 hour road trip)
- Sub Internal Riyadh - Iraq
- Sub Internal Riyadh - Syria
- Sub Internal Riyadh - UAE
- Sub Internal Riyadh - Oman
Route to Europe (Train)
- Gawadar (Pakistan) - Tehran (Iran) - Turkey - Europe (Train Link)
- Sub Internal - Tehran (Iran ) - Iraq - Jordan

There can be a Oman - South Africa based trade route as well
