Saudi Arabia Uses India to Balance Pakistan

This has way less to do with Pakistan and way more to do with Iran.

Yes, it's SA's bid to decrease India's dependence on Iran crude, Plus the economic angle - SA may be running out of crude and trying to build other industries and India is a likely partner.

Maybe but it starts and ends with Iran, if Iran is dealt with (or should I say when?!) India will find the Saudis less forthcoming.

Don't think India's diplomacy is that weak that it has to be based on just one aspect - anyways it's difficult for people to understand especially Pakistanis.

Not really

1945: US State Department Official Calls Saudi Oil ‘One of the Greatest Material Prizes in World History’
The chief of the State Department’s Division of Near Eastern Affairs, writes in a memo that the oil resources of Saudi Arabia are a “stupendous source of strategic power and one of the greatest material prizes in world history.” [CURTIS, 1995, PP. 21; MUTTITT, 2005]

Another reason is that Pakistan is getting close to Iran, the rival of Saudi Arabia, the relations between Pakistan and Iran is at peak since the 1979 Islamic revolution, and Turkey is replacing Saudi Arabia as the most influence country, these thing are worrying Saudi,s and they trying to put some pressure on Pakistan

:hitwall::hitwall::hitwall:

Pakistan will never get close to Iran as long as we keep breeding Sunni Terrorists in our Madrassas to wage war on the un-believers including Shias.

If Pakistan cracks down on these terrorist groups, it will establish better relations with everyone including India, Saudi Arabia, China, Iran, Europe, Russia and USA.

But Pakistanis still dream of ****** Armies conquering Kashmir so unless Saudi Arabia and even China totally abandon Pakistan, Pakistan will never give up this stupid policy.

I read somewhere Gulf oil will be running out in a few decades - doesn't matter, the point is SA is trying to build its industrial base. I hear a few SA firms have tied up with Indian firms to set up factories too.

You sound like a Tarek Fateh fan !

So it must be Pakistan?? Not sure since when the world "local" has started to mean Pakistan.
Is Pakistan a district in India or something??

Indians are obsessed to the point of becoming international ridicule.!

The reason Pakistan finds mention here is because of past records.

Till these two extraditions, the norm was that ISI supported sending Pakistani terrorists into India and funding and arming Indian terrorists. Indian terrorists went to countries like BD and Nepal from where they were given Pakistani passports to goto Pakistan and thence at times to Afghanistan to train.

When wanted in India, Pakistan was their place of refuge after crimes as Pakistan would never deport anyone to India!

Whenever there was international heat on Pakistan, they went off to other countries in the gulf - namely Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia would NEVER deport any Indian terrorist either because more often than not, he will reveal his connection to Pakistan which would bring international disrepute. This was Saudi Arabia protecting Pakistan by not allowing deportation of wanted people(both Indian and Pakistani) from KSA.

However in this KSA was also protecting itself indirectly because they were a major source of funding for such groups. This also has stopped/reduced in recent years.

So a shift in KSA's approach of deporting people is a massive 180 degree turn!

Who is Tarek Fateh? :what:

Youtube him...you'd love him ! Of course most of us, including I, think that Mr. Fatah has a pathological habit of selling half-truths, exaggerations & out-right lies but hey it sells !

P.S Hes a Canadian too !

I believe we should not abandon Iran for Saudi Arabia.

Not sure where and how you invent this theory.

The current terrorist deported is an Indian citizen belonging to an Indian local millitant group.
In an incident earlier, an Indian terrorist was taking refugee in KSA on a Pakistani passport and rest assured not amount of Indian pressure could get his extradited. Indian had to go beg the USA and Saudi made India do a shovel of work to prove his "Indian citizenship" before extraditing him.

None the less Pakistan also holds enough intelligence about Saudis and 9/11 which can turn their relation with USA 180 degrees.

Dejavu it seems, at the height of the cold war PAK took advantage of being a counter to IND especially our soviet alliance ! Now it seems nations the world over take IND as a bargaining chip on the negotiating table with PAK :smokin:

We don't need anybody to counter your country. We can do it ourselves if the need ever arises
