Saudi Arabia to sign security cooperation with Bangladesh: Foreign ministry official

This agreement will see enhanced cooperation between the two countries in capacity building, skills development and exchange of visits of security personnel.

DHAKA – Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh are going to sign security cooperation deal during the visit of the Saudi deputy minister.

Foreign ministry officials said Bangladesh home ministry and Saudi interior ministry would sign the agreement.

This agreement will see enhanced cooperation between the two countries in capacity building, skills development and exchange of visits of security personnel between the two countries, a foreign ministry official told The Daily Star last night (October 26, 2022)

The two countries will also sign another agreement called Makkah Road Initiative to facilitate the smooth travel of pilgrims by easing procedures

However, BD may seek high tech weapons from SA if there is no restrictions from the USA.

I do not understand one thing. Why a soldier should not get the monetary benefits of working as a soldier?

Should they go half-hungry and then lay their lives for the country? Is it necessary to become so much of a patriot? Like anybody else they also need money. They each have a family they have to support.

And soldiers earn living wages in a very hard way in the UN or other missions.

Cooperation is a good thing. I am all for it. I hope SA recruits BD personnel in their security forces.

SA is in a critical juncture where they may be undergoing a recalibration their future geo-strategic stance. BD must stand with it as one of the critical Muslim global player but more importantly a critical market for us. A tighter alignment with SA is in BDs interest.

I think Kuwait still has a contingent of Bangladesh military contingent to support that country in times of emergency.

SA may also adopt the same policy. A well-established modern country does not recruit foreigners in their own troops.

However, SA or another Arab country may recruit foreigners of an Arab country like Egypt.
