Saudi Arabia, Middle East allies to participate in PAF counterterror exercise

.
They were the first true MRCA but i guess the Tornados reputation during Gulf war took a big hit, however in right hands, they are still very potent weapon system.

Yes, well the point of the exercise is not for PAF to sit around admiring the Tornado, but for us all to learn from each other. Saudis and US operate in very advanced, integrated ops and PAF has been doing this. The Tornado has very modern guided weapons and targeting, we can learn how they do it under heavy jamming and attack and likewise with USAF F-15s/F-16s.

Hopefully we can keep on developing ACES Meets so they become more complex, realistic and with more particpents, an South Asia version of Red Flag/Anatolian Eagle

.
Possibly also an exercise where both sides size each other up should Afghanistan go sideways.

If you look equipment it's mostly strike aircraft's your guess is right but without surge of 3-400k troops from west only air power alone is useless but yes it's in Afghanistan context good judgement

Punitive strikes in the event they want to lash out, but yes, ultimately futile. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that.

The failure is rebuilding Afghanistan institution and educational system its too late now

USAF wears Multicam pattern too.

Maybe USAF only sent their TACP/JTACS or CCTs or PJs.

No, they mentioned USAF, Saudi and PAF participating with aircraft, other nations as observers.

Kuwait is one of few gulf habibis who have their Islamic conscious intact.
Self preservation at its best. If you cannot beat them then join them. It is likely a lot of ME countries will develop similar links.

That looked like Army camo I think. Plus one of the American officers had ranks on his flight suit, either USAF or US Navy.

Marines do not wear ranks on their flight suits. And I think no Marine Hornets are based in Afghanistan these days, although I could be mistaken about that. VMFA squadrons flew their last legacy Hornets last month, as for VMFA(AW) squadrons....not sure if they are in Afghanistan on deployment.
In all honesty could be any of their services, USAF use multicam camo too, and as someone pointed out all services wear light brown flight suits in the CENTCOM region of operations.

I suspect it will be USAF. The PAF/USAF relationship is very close, and we have little or no history of operating with the Marines.

I am guessing it will be F-15E/F-16Cs out of either Al Dhafra, UAE or Al Udeid, Qatar, unlikely they would spare any signficant numbers out of Kabul
That's a negative as i have discovered that the officer neither belongs to USAF or USN .
He is the US military or defence attaché based in Islamabad and was representing America.
Also i understand the USAF is not in town yet as this part of exercise is designated ACES MEET 2021-1.....so my guess is second part of exercise may be ACES MEET 2021-2.....which will involve the USAF.

What I have heard is that only ground elements are participating from the US side (JTACs).
That's affirmative. No Jets from USAF.

“The Royal Saudi Air Force and the United States Air Force will be participating with their aircrafts,” added the spokesman who did not want to be named. “However, the Iraqi Air Force and Palestinian paratroopers will attend the exercise without fighter jets.”
