No, the local Jordanians are not all urbanized Bedouins. Jordan was inhabited by urbanized locals for thousands of years. After all some of the oldest cities in the world are found in Jordan. Where did they emerge from then?

The locals only shifted to a PARTIAL nomadic lifestyle due to the climatic changes. Even after that they still retained farming when possible which most Beduins did/do for large parts of the year. The exact same thing happened in parts of the Arabian Peninsula and other ancient regions in the Arab world.

How about the ancient Nabateans? The ancestors of those former Bedouins? Those that built World UNESCO Heritage Sites such as Petra etc.?
