Saudi Arabia, China Ink Nuke Cooperation Deal

yeah prove they have no bomb, pakistan got the bomb, your saying pakistan is more technology advanced than Iran and they can do it and not we?
your just a fool that cant think outside the box, Iran has many hidden enrichment facilities.

Iran can develop nuclear weapons but it is too afraid to go all the way with it. And it should be afraid.

Intelligence agencies know all that is need to know about Iran's nuclear programme because they have many agents inside the nuclear organisations of Iran. There is no shortage of Iranians ready to help the West to defeat the current barbaric regime in Tehran.

Iran's doing a good job. Iran has only 75 million people. Yet they are as big a headache for USA's evil plans for world domination as China is.

It is possible that Iran serves PRC's purposes to challenge the US, but if Iran gets nuclear weapons, all the international community will suffer, including PRC. However, as usual, PRC letting the US to clean up the mess and get the blame although the US policy towards Iran serves PRC's interests too.

No, Iran getting nukes does not threaten China. Just like Israeli nukes don't threaten india.

Like the US, PRC too aspire to have as few as possible nuclear weapons countries in order to maintain global stability. Hence, PRC should do much more to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

It was never about nuclear weapons because the Iranians kept their program peaceful. It was always about the balance of power in the Middle East, and if the Iranians get more powerful and modernized because they work harder and are smart, that is Israel's problem alone, not the responsibility of other countries like China to try to contain them for Israel's defense (or existence if you want to view it that way). Given the involvement of USA, and USA's poor relations with China, it's completely foreclosed that China will not be on Israel's side here.

Okay! Well then Israel sholdn't worry about the Irans nuclear programme then.....:)

Good move, we need to nuclear technology it might come handy some time later.

How ever Saudi Arabia already purchased few nuclear warheads with CSS-2 missiles long time ago in a very huge secret deal, it was delivered in the early 80's, the US found out about what looked like nuclear missiles sites in SA late in 1989, then China and Saudi Arabia admitted making a deal and both countries stated that the missiles were "modified" to carry conventional warheads. (note: CSS-2 never had conventional warheads ;) )

so in another word Saudi Arabia already acquired Nuclear weapons by purchase back in the 80's and have the capability to deliver it with ballistic missiles with a range of 3200 Kilometers.

i noticed any Saudi Arabian news always attract haters with their jealousy and envy ;) and i really like that, seems every thing we do make them squirm in their seats lol.

You are almost correct on those.

But truth of the matter is Saudi Arabia needs nuclear technology more than anyone else.

1. Saudi Arabia is a desert mostly, and any water comes by de-salination plants.
It takes enormous amount of energy to run those plants, very soon Saudi Arabia will need more and more water.

2. Saudi Arabia is shaping for a production based economy, and that is not possible until and unless they have cheap and abundant power available.

3. Saudi Arabia is a very hot country, just the amount of power required to make conditions liveable ( air conditioning) is HUGE !

So the faster Saudi Arabia gets Nuclear plants running, the better. Oil is due to become scarce around 2025 onwards, and it is around that time that Saudi Arabia will start generating power via the Nuclear plants.

This is called planning for future.

But if the oil runs out, where will the money to buy uranium/enriched uranium - not cheap - come from ?
However, with solar energy, no need to import anything ... and sunshine is what SA has.

you are correct in all of that, but oil will not become scarce in 2025, it will remain the most important source of energy for at least the next 100 years (this is what scientific and academic researches say), also Saudi Arabia have alot of oil on the western cost 200 kilos south to jeddah also oil in the west near rabigh and other places (they did not publish it officially excpet for rabigh 10 years ago), there is oil in the south west in Jizan, also the empty quarter have huge oil reserves.

the problem with nuclear energy it is very expensive both in building and operational costs, so it needs to be subsdized heavily, it might become cheaper later when the techonology develops more, but for now it is expensive thats why the US don't rely on them much and same for China, germany is closing it is nuclear plants.

Nuclear energy is cheapest after Hydro electric power.

Obtaining fissile material is difficult, but Saudi Arabia has made enough investments in the right places to obtain the fissile material, even if they have to twist some elbows.

People r so naive.. lol. Congs to SA .. u'll have ur owm atom bum

Against the popular beleive that nuclear energy is cheap actually it is not, fossile enegy is way cheaper specially oil which unfortunately not in this graph. (maybe i can find one later).

oil is the most cheap source for energy, thats why the US (the most advanced country all techonologies including nuclear), is not building nuclear plants instead it is relying on oil, same thing for china it is building electricity oil plants instead of more nuclear plants, all over the world more oil energy plants are been built than nuclear for this exact reason.

the only country relying on nuclear plants is france, because it want to be independent as much *** possible from oil and to keep it acceptable for their population they are subsidizing it heavily, don't beleive this talk about nuclear energy, it is very expensive and danegerous thats why its very limited even in advanced industrial nations.

what i said about oil is from academic searches, not the talk of tabloids and ignorant journalists, oil will remain the main source of energy for the next 100 years, also it is not running out, production all over the world is still higher than consumptions and new techonologies are developed allowing more oil lifting from hard places and older oil-fields, not to mention new oil discoveries are been made in africa, south america and middle east.

We are planning to export electricity via solar energy. We already built a 500 megawatt solar plant. So it's not like we didn't plan for this also.

And we are building an industry the move away from oil is our country's top priority.
