Featured Saudi Arabia and Pakistan: A partnership too important to fail

Can't believe people are bashing SMQ.
House of Saud need to be put in their place. Military has vested interests in Saudis. Oh yes raheel sharif, how could a retired army chief Work in a other country at the level he is in. Isnt that a security risk? Ever heard that a retired US Army chief is now the commander of Nato in let's say Germany France. Just unbelievably ridiculous

You do have a point their as well, it's beyond non-sense.

SMQ is a hero. He called the Saudis out on their hypocrisy.

I wish we did it back when KL summit was happening.

LoL if SA and UAE can be friends with Israel and india, why cant we be friends with Iran and Turkey, we will do what is in our interests and they can do the same.
Because Israel and India don't compete with SA on who should "lead"Islamic world.

Overall, he says that SA helped Pakistan a lot.
SA feel uneasy why Pak is tilting towards Iran and Turkey more as they are dividing ummah more.
Pak didn't help SA when she needed most, in Yemen war.
Shah Mahmood is dividing muslim brotherhood and SA/Pak relations.
SA and India relations can help Pakistan and SA needs to invest in countries to earn more to curb oil dependency.
Also we think past Turks as part of caliphate but Arabs see them as oppressors.
@Foxtrot Alpha @Rafi @PakFactor
I think SMQ should resign voluntarily.

The FM cant say anything without PM or establishment consent. Of course in matters of national security, establishment should have a say. What Klasra is saying is totally sentimental stuff. Nations dont set relations on sentiments.

Turkey and Iran are brothers to us if Saudi Arabia is a brother too. So why does not Saudi Arabia budge to improve relations with fellow Muslims when its putting so much effort in normalizing relations with enemies?

Nothing but another example of slavish mindset exhibited by my countrymen when it comes to KSA, UAE and in general Arabs rulers from GCC.

Foreign Relations between countries are not a Zero Sum game, but this thing seems to be lost on Prince Salman, or thanks to our behaviour he does consider us his slaves. We appreciate all that KSA had done for the past, but we also returned the favour many times over.
Only fools would agree to send their troops to a quagmire called Yemen, it was a wise move. KSA had no need to get directly involved in this mess but Prince Salman's arrogance knows no bound. Sorry but our soldiers will not be sent to the meat grinder to satisfy your ego.

We have our own interests, and we must safeguard them.

Why should SMQ resign? Because he stated the truth, KSA and its allies had turned OIC in an utter useless organisation, and Saudis are acting butt hurt because he had the guts to call it as it is. Stop being a salve to these people.

And our Army Chief had to run off to KSA, only be snubbed suits him right. It is about time we for once and all throw away these shackles, if the current KSA leadership thinks we are their slaves, too bad.

Prince Salman had hurt KSA interests more than its worst enemies, if this guy stays in power things will only get worse.

Saudi Arabia is a sinking ship. But then again, Iran is already half submerged in the water. It appears the rising Muslim power is Turkey. As for Pakistan, they are on a very tight leash being held by China. Overall, Muslim countries have no prospects, they are all impotent. I'm a Canadian citizen and I consider the United States to be the most positive force on this planet. I love the Neocons because when they're in power they regularly teach arrogant Muslim dictators a lesson. Just because I'm a Muslim doesn't mean I'm going to identify with or align myself with any Muslim country or state. Governments and states don't have religions, religion is applicable to humans only. I want to see arrogant Muslim dictatorships like Iran and Syria humiliated even further. They got too much of a break with all-talk no action Trump. Now that Biden will be the next president, we can get back to business as usual. America must continue to humiliate and undermine these Arab dictatorships and also Iran. As for Pakistan, that's my motherland, but I have no loyalty to the state. America should impose the same kind of sanctions they imposed on Iran onto Pakistan too.

Ah, your first real joint is a experiance never to forget I guess.....

Spot on. KSA has no right to blackmail us on 'the Ummah' when it invests in India. It's a shame our foreign policy is not as sharp as it needs to be. Truth is, KSA has us by the scrotum on money, but there's a way out if we can boost our exports (and in turn get more hard currency, and diversify our energy imports). Lower cost energy from Iran (especially if the United Nations walks the US sanctions back) might help too.
They do have a right. They keep (repeatedly) financing Pakistan when no one else (other than China) does. They host millions of Pakistani workers on which Pakistan's financial balance of payments depends. No other country or region does that. None of the other partners that Pakistan wants to align with - Turkey, Iran - can afford to do for Pakistan.

What is clear is that Pakistan wants the benefits of being 'multi-aligned', but wants the benefits of a 'close ally'. It is not willing to pay the price that comes with being multi-aligned.

Simply put, that is the crux of this entire episode.

If we need saudia they need us too. Our relationship with iran are transactional and low but still saudia pressurizing while investing in india without any demand despite india being one of biggest buyer and investor of iran.

Our relationship are important but stop treating us like a vessel state. We are independent and will protect our national interest.

We should not take side in iran and saudia conflict. While saudia is more important to us but iran being neighbour needs to be keep on our side.

Turkey is also a time tested friend and whatever differences between arabs and turks it has nothing to do with us.

Those are the points raised in the video. I don't have same views @airmarshal @macnurv
Except the last one where I believe if push comes, we can dispense SMQ. It is not a big issue.
Otherwise, I believe as (Eagle said) SA shout trust (for Iran and Turkey) us if they think that Pak should trust them on their deals with India.
Also China trades with Iran, SA and India. So SA mustn't bother. We ourselves traded with Indians, so we cannot point out for SA. Our former PM was hand in hand with Modi. So that is not the issue.
Point is new SA leadership should be made clear that Kashmir is our core issue. However that must be conveyed in diplomatic manner. If MBS is naive/aggressive/childish, at least SMQ is seasoned politician. He must not stain this fragile relationship when SA feels insecure from all sides. Be it Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Isreal, Malaysia etc.

Its a shame. We must not let our brothers go away in such desperate and desolate times. They cannot stand against powers. be it Palestinians or SA or UAE.

Sorry, but I'm trying to understand Your comment, for the Palestinians yes thats a given, but for SA and UAE???

So are You saying SA and UAE are the victims here?
