Saudi Arabia Agrees to Partial Cease-Fire in War-Shattered Yemen

There’s news of a total Saudi military collapse in Najran on the Yemen borders.

Saudi Air Force is bombing saada while the army spokesmen for the Yemen military says they have carried the largest operation since the beginning of the war.

They claim to have captured over a hundred vehicles and thousands of prisoners, most of them are mercenaries from South Yemen but also a dozens of Saudis including high ranking officers.

Honestly this war has forced North Yemen to adapt. Whether Saudi continues or stops the war. The outcome is the same. Northern Yemen is destined to be a regional power. They will eventually reorganize, train and arm themselves all over again with strategic weapons , drones and missiles. They will be the Hezbollah of Yemen but much bigger.

The lack of strategy from the Saudi government has only made them stronger over the years.

They are already locally producing drones and missiles with Iran’s help. Imagine what’s going to happen when the siege is lifted and the war stops.

Edit, the operations are not from today, must have been a few weeks back but they are just putting up for the public.

these clowns only understand power....

they had a chance in 4 years time to make this move, and come off as humanitarian and take the higher road.

their arrogance cost them. now they are forced into this out of fear and humiliation. was it worth it princess MBS? this is what happens when spoiled little kids run your foreign policy (influenced by their American masters who want to milk maximum money out of them for weapons and reconstruction)

It looks like both Saudi government and Ansarullah/Houthi/Allied Yemeni army want to get into the expected negotiations from the position of strength. Hence why each one of them announced partial ceasefire or truce, followed or preceded by big military operation.

The problem is there is no third party that can bridge the gap who can be trusted by both parties. Hopefully, Kuwait, Algeria, Oman, others such as Russia would get in and bridge the gap.

Yemen’s Houthis Claim an Assault on Southern Saudi Arabia
Say Thousands of Troops Captured, Spokesman to Present Evidence Sunday
Dave DeCampPosted on September 28, 2019Categories NewsTags Saudi Arabia, Yemen

The Houthis of Yemen claimed they completed a successful assaultnear the southern region of Najran, Saudi Arabia on Saturday. The Houthi’s military spokesman said “three enemy military brigades have fallen” and that they captured thousands of troops and hundreds of armored vehicles.

The Houthis also claimed some senior Saudi officers were among those captured. No Saudi officials have yet confirmed the raid, but the Houthi spokesman saidthey will be presenting evidence of the captured troops and vehicles in a press conference on Sunday. The Houthis also say the captured troops will be taken to an undisclosed location to protect them from Saudi airstrikes.

The assault comes after Saudi Arabia announcedthey will be joining a “limited cease-fire” in Yemen. Last week, the Houthis offered a truce with the kingdom. The Saudis did not respond to the truce offer right away and continued airstrikes on the country that were responsible for some civilian deaths.

The Houthis took credit for the September 14thdrone attack on Saudi oil facilities that crippled the kingdom’s oil output. Both the U.S. and Saudis blamed Iran for the attack, and the U.S. responded by sending a few hundred troops and some military equipment to Saudi Arabia.

Saudis slowly realising that billions of dollars and fancy weapons cannot guarantee them safety in their luxurious harems.

There's no safety from terrorism. Soft targets can be targeted any time any where.
Iran has conspired with India and Pakistani puppies to kill thousands of Pakistanis and children.
No one counter attacked Iran, so throw this crap out of your mind that any individual or a group of individuals are able to execute missile attacks, on any country withouted support of states listed as axis of evil.
Actuallly its not Houthis who are firing missiles it's fully trained professionals.

Hope people come to their senses stop the war and let Yemenis form their future through talks ...

Sir considering internal structures and complexities of tribal societies it is much better to implement a structured political system in Yemen where all factions get the fair share in power. One other hand Yemen may not become a launchpad for sectarian violence it is the most sane way to move forward.
Being the vassal of other countries is the way to go !?:nono:

Although a modern-era war can get really messy while it drag on, KSA does not have a decent army. They completely failed to occupy Yemen and restore pre-Houthi government to power. Shame.

I suppose this ceasefire is for the best. KSA should come to terms with its failure in Yemen, and search for a political resolution of this war.

I pray to have complete peace in the region and Iran also need to understand that war is no option, he is only helping US agenda of destabilizing the middle east under US cover from Iraq and Syria.

Due to sectarian conflicts the Arab countries are pushed to shake hand with devil i.e Israel. One sect can prevail due to force and terror in one specific are but cannot be spread in whole Muslim world. As soon as Iran and KSA learn it, is far better for whole Muslim world.
