The entire country is drowning with guns. There are terror groups roaming and even enjoy state support through NRA. It really is a threat to world peace. There should be zero tolerance for guns in every country and more so USA as it has enormous influence on rest of the world.

Gun control is not same as gun ban as some dumb people like to think. I personally am not advocating a blanket ban on guns, never have and never will. However the problem is the ease with which you can go and buy a gun. That needs to changed. To buy a gun a person should have to go through proper process, process that will ensure his mental and physical health is fine, conducts a test involving technical as well as ethical assessment of the applicant etc. Only one a person passes all these test procedures he should be allowed to buy a gun. May be even then subject it to some days training etc. That is gun control. That no everyone can go to market and buy themselves a gun. That would be terrible. I mean, look at some of the members on this forum, a few even on this thread, do you really think retards and morons likes these should be carrying a gun? NO!!

Trust me I am believer in zero guns. But if this was real life and all PDFers had guns including me I would be dead by now but before that probably 'wasted' dozens of other PDFers. I am not a zero gun advocate but ask for extreme gun control procedures, absolutely water tight process one need to go thorugh to get a gun. Psychological evaluation, written test for technical and ethical assessment related to guns, training, fee, mandatory refresher course, etc

He said many people in USA live in sparsely populated rural areas where the neighbour might be half a mile away and nearest police station 20 miles away. In that scenario if you call help it might be way too long before you get help and having a gun on the farm is reassuring. This argumant carried some traction.

At my age I burn at leaat 800 calories in the gym in intense cardio workouts including stairmills and do weight lifts every third day. I also have weekly bout of boxing in the ring we have at the gym with full protective gear with a friend. All that is more manly and helps release aggression then going around packing guns and acting tough.

Self-Def is always the prime reason, the reason that will always have some traction. What needs to be done is to analyze that requirement and make sure the person applying for the gun is capable to carry one, same process as mentioned earlier, tests and all!! Cannot understand why gun lovers will have any objection to that.

Just to place it on the record I have fired guns including AK-47. When I was in my village [almost all have guns] my relatives went on hunting boars. And they pushed me into it. Also while there they even had a gunfight with a rival group. So it's not that I am not aware. We have lost two family members to guns over the preceding three decades.

At least 10 people were shot overnight at a San Bernardino, California apartment complex, police say.

At least two of the victims are in critical condition, but no fatalities have been reported, according to the San Bernardino Police Department's Lieutenant Rich Lawhead. Victims were transported to three hospitals.

The shooting happened in the front common area of the complex in the 1200 block of East Lynwood Drive, Lawhead said. Police said the initial investigation indicates there was an exchange of gunfire, but details about the shooting were not immediately available.
