Salman Taseer on Blasphemy Law of Pakistan

.
At around 2:35 in the video he says that people warned him not to question the black law because of extremists and his life would be put in danger.
Really sad how many more Salman Taseers are these extremists mullahs going to kill?

.
Stupid media is making it sound as if Salman Taseer was killed just because he opposed the law, which the killer interpreted as "unislamic".

It must be much more than that, for all these ministers, drink and party and do all sorts of un-islamic acts with all their security men knowing about it. This one guy probably was a bit psycho. You never know what was cooking up in his mind, that he vent out his anger.

.
I think this video will clear his views about what he wanted to see in Pakistan. He clearly presents his views on Blasphamy Law in Pakistan and there is hardly anything objectionable in the video

Please do watch

YouTube - Salman Taseer Stand On Blasphemy Law Of Pakistan

Believe me Yaar, I am a pan Islamist at extreme BUT I don't support these religious extremists, I mean, there's a whole procedure how someone is declared wajib-ul Qatal.

Salman Taseer earned respect in my heart, after his death.

He surely wasn't a blasphemer.

Down with secular fascism and Religious Extremism.

P.S : I don't oppose Blasphemy law, just want procedural changes in it so that misuse can be prevented.

.
media also holds a lot of responsibility for Salmans murder .... well done a$$hol3$ becuase of your incitement that qadri rackoon killed him

.
Salman Taseer did not commit blasphemy, but regardless of what anyone thinks what is the point of having blasphemy laws if religious groups will still take matters in their own hand? Why did the Islamists not go to court if they had a case? Obviously this has nothing to do with religion or breech of law but pure power play and using religion as an excuse, as usual.

Can we have Salman Taseer's death topics all in one thread?

Move on people. Hundreds of Pakistanis are killed each day. Why not open hundreds of threads on them?

Not really. Pakistan would be better off if all these corrupt f!lthy rich alcoholic politicians are rounded up and drowned to death in the Arabian Sea.

These people have all the money and the power to bring real change and better life to the hard working struggling common Pakistani person, but they chose not to and just become slaves of the west so they can grow their bank accounts and make more of their mansions and villas.

I have no respect for these corrupt politicians. None at all.

The Pakistan army and the common struggling Pakistani has my respect.

By the way, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah recently said that Taseer sought Aasia Bibi’s pardon as a political move to make PPP popular among the minorities of the country. He could've cared less about Aasia Bibi and other minorities. All he cared about was his bank account.

What an idiotic comment.

Saudi daily calls Taseer a martyr, justice crusader

Saudi newspaper has lamented the assassination of Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer whose bitter opposition to “extremism and violence cost him his life” and “turned him into a martyr”.

In an editorial published on January 5, Arab News said that Taseer was murdered by “one or perhaps more bigots who believed that he wanted to repeal the country’s blasphemy law”. It called Taseer a martyr and his killer “a heartless, grinning murderer and an ignorant instrument of evil”.

While calling Taseer a true Muslim, it said neither his murderer nor those “who celebrate this evil deed” should be counted among the faithful.

The newspaper mourned the loss of “a bold campaigner for truth and justice” but drew comfort from the fact that Pakistan had a host of other activists “whose faith is generous and embracing” and who “refuse to be intimidated by the twisted advocates of hatred”.

Rather than cowering under fear, Arab News called upon the country’s leaders to stand up and rally against the deviant forces that threatened to bring darkness to Pakistan and Islam.

It advised those who see the proof of fanaticism in Taseer’s murder to look to the Islam he stood for and “a faith that pursues justice, truth and respect — the real Islam.”

The newspaper said the killing of Taseer was more serious than the country’s current political crisis. For the moment, it said, the government of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani is relatively safe, even safer as a result of the killing.
