The JIT has recommended that a case should be lodged against the CTD officials.

Earlier, the family of Sahiwal incident victims had lodged a FIR against the personnel of Punjab police of kidnapping the Khalil’s family and then killing them with a planned strategy on G.T Road on Saturday.

16 unknown men have been named in the complaint.

The case was registered on the complaint of Mohammad Jalil, a brother of Khalil, who was among those shot dead by the CTD men.

The FIR was lodged under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997. However, nobody has been nominated in the FIR as the names of those officials who took part in the operation had not been provided by the CTD.

Ten officials in uniform and six in plainclothes carried out the operation.

According to the details, Mohammad Khalil along with his family members including wife, four children and driver left Lahore at 08:30 am to Burewala to attend a wedding.

The FIR alleged that 16 persons in a Elite van kidnapped the family when it crossed the Okara bypass and took them to a pre-decided place near Qadirabad on main G.T Road and opened fire on the car killing Khalil, wife Nabeela, daughter Areeba and driver Zeeshan on the spot.

While, son Mohammad Umair, daughter Muniba and Jaziba suffered injuries.

The Sahiwal incident has sent shock waves across the country with Prime Minister Imran Khan promising swift action against those involved in the gruesome act.

A video surfaced on social media exposed the claims of Counter Terrorism Department that they were militants and were killed in encounter.

A Joint Investigation Team has been constituted to probe the matter which would finalise the report in 72 hours.

The names of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel involved in the notorious Sahiwal shootout have surfaced days after three members of a family killedand a suspected terrorist was killed.

Khalil, a grocer in Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, his wife Nabeela, their 13-year-old daughter, and their neighbour, Zeeshan, were on their way to a wedding in Burewala on Saturday when they were killed in firing on their car by CTD officials near the toll plaza on GT Road in the Qadirabad area.

The CTD team was reportedly led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Safdar Hussain, whereas Ahsan, Muhammad Ramzan, Saifullah and Hasnain Akbar were also a part of the team.

According to the initial investigation, the personnel shot at the vehicle from the front and both sides, resulting in the death of four people, including a minor.

The claim in CTD’s statement that the persons traveling in the car retaliated by opening fire was incorrect as “no evidence of firing from inside the car” could be obtained, reports claimed, adding that even the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was not called on by the CTD team after the shootout despite claims of recovering explosives from the custody of the deceased.

According to reports, the crime scene was cleared without taking evidence.

Neighbours of Zeeshan, the terror suspect, have maintained that was a nice person. He was willing to join the Dolphin Force soon, they reasoned.

His brother, Ehtisham, was already in the force, and Zeeshan had also given his Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) to his brother for the purpose.

However, reports quoting the CTD officials say that the encounter was carried out on the information passed by the informer.

The police had earlier registered a first information report (FIR), number 33/19, against 16 CTD officials involved in the killing. The CTD personnel were taken into custody following the directives issued by the Punjab chief minister.

The heirs of Zeeshan (victim) also demanded Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat to step down from his post. They said that the minister declared the deceased a terrorist, adding that the protest would continue until the justice is delivered.

Earlier, the victims of Sahiwal incident, Khalil, his wife Nabeela and daughter Areeba, were laid to rest in a graveyard in Kahna, on Sunday.

It is pertinent here to mention that the CTD officials had killed four people, including a couple and their teenage daughter, and injured a teenage boy in a suspicious ‘encounter’ on GT Road near Sahiwal.

The incident had triggered a nationwide outcry that prompted the government to take the security officials into custody and order an investigation into the incident.

The suspects were identified as Shahid Jabbar and Abdul Rehman travelling towards Sahiwal and were reportedly in possession of arms and explosives, CTD stated.

The counter-terrorism officials claimed that the operation was conducted to capture an ‘Islamic State (IS) commander’ on a tip off by an intelligence agency.

Now I have started to doubt the official version about Zeeshan as well.

Right after the gujranwala encounter CTD press release claimed that both of those deceased took refuge in Zeeshan's home and ran away after coming to know about the vazirabad incident - - - - - - - -

while the town fellows categorically denied any such activity of some strangers. As they were present outside the home after the news broke out - - - - - - - -

Zeeshan's mother statement also cast a shadow of doubt on the official version , That her lil son was sleeping inside and she herself locked the gate from the outside and went shopping.

Mark my words the csp's and other higher ups are definitely gonna push the rankers in the meat grinder to save their skin

.
I fear the day, God forbid, these kids grow up hating the LEAs and become psychologically shattered.
this will cause them to turn towards terrorism themselves
and then we will act surprised and say, "oh my, why would someone want to be a terrorist?"

It clearly shows they hit wrong
Vehicle or with wrong Intel. Another part is Safe city cameras not reliable enough for 100% correct number plates identification because also some cases of e-challan have wrong images of bikes and cars and sent to look like numbers bec

This JIT will be a blame game between police and intelligence agencies.

Hope I ll be wrong.

if bhadur boys are behind ctd then dont expect any action but they will be protected like bhadur boys protected Mr Rao Anwar!

Collateral damage.

They should have asked for written orders, or should have recorded the verbal instructions on an audio tape.

. .
is someone following the joke that is called JIT?
went to the location and came back after a photo session, without recording any witness statements.
From what I can gauge, when the CTD shot the car the first time, they accidentally hit someone, once they stopped the car they saw that they had messed up, instead of leaving any survivors to tell the tale, they thought it would be better to just make everyone shut up, and then put the classic label "terrorist" on them all.

.
