Sad situation at wahga border

Indians go to Attari to enjoy and have fun. They don’t need to explain to anyone about reasons for doing the same.
If Paksiatni’s are disenchanted with their establishment then it is their own problem. Why should Indians be judged for that?

Don’t go anywhere and sulk if you want. Or go and enjoy the show.

We will still go and enjoy nationalistic fervour, music, be in the moment, enjoy dhaba food on the way and go back home with a smile.

One more thing - Why should we be apologetic about this show by the military? They put up a show as per their high standards which consists of fine drill movements. Bravo to both sides for that.

Tumhaarey leader nay apna baap teen dafa change kiya tha patwari sahab..ab chauthay ko baap bananay kay liyye tayyar hai..koi sharam hoti hai koyie haya hoti hai

Nawaz Sharif never said that the army chief is the father of the nation, this is an innovation of PTI

Indians just throwing salt at our wounds.

it is not their fault they are born to do this shit.

it is members from this side of the border who are agreeing and promoting them.

whatever differences with whom so ever one has, he has to be sensible enough not to let a neighbor interfere while having a fight at home, it humiliates whole family.

i know each one of them, while throwing tantrum of their previous humiliation, every time post here to the current situation, they feel they make their day.

maybe it help them sleep better but that is what they are. it is us who must know this.

An indian police man recent killed 3 muslim passengers on a train in India and made a statement that he wanted to kill Pakistanis.

Do you think what is done there at wagha gate opening is any serious business ? It looks hilarious and artificial show of bravery ,body chest and boot thumping along with fierce looking eye glances from both sides . All this circus is done just to let people think their army is better than the neighbour . A big drama .

Bang on correct. It is a big drama and should be treated like one. So what, if it is coming from the BSF or the rangers. If one observes closely, the guards from both sides in fact discuss nitty gritty before the show starts.

Body and chest thumping, aggressive postures etc are executed pretty well. It is a work of art. It does come from soldiers from both sides, so what?

Few naive people do get carried away. It is a big world and everyone can decide for themselves what they want to make of it.

This is not the only drama that is played across the country. There are many more and in different domains of government. One good example is our parliament. I can quote many more and of worse quality.

Pakistan and its idea of being a nation is in complete contrast to become any kind of identity for India or Bharat. So the short answer is no. We respect Pakistan as an independent nation.

What is the idea behind Bharat, Hindustan or India? A common sense of being British subjects?

The man is arrested , he killed one hindu officer first , everybody is condemning his action. Muslims also kill hindus in India .

Starting from NWFP to the southern most part of subcontinent awam was enjoying british subjugation . Awam always welcomed the attacker and enjoyed enslavement .they are doing it from thousands of years.

Pakistan has a political and geographical identity.

What political identity or geographical identity does India have apart from being lumped together as erstwhile British crown subjects?

I want to share a joke on the subject.

The British colonized a town in Punjab. So the British commissioner surveyed the area on ways to generate income for the Queen.

The town residents used to cross a bridge to work on a daily basis. So the commissioner got the idea to collect toll tax on every town resident that crossed the bridge.

He enacted the tax, everyone paid the toll tax and no one complained. Over the coming days the commissioner increased the tax, and yet noone complained.

Few days go by, the Commissioner decided to enact more tax with a complimentary slap for every resident crossing the bridge.

Few days go by and the residents started to complain. So the Commissioner summoned a town elder.

The town elder, to the Commissioner surprise, mentioned he has no qualms with tax or a slap, the only problem for the residents was the queue to collect tax and a slap were getting longer hence they were getting late for work. Hence the town elder requested toll tax and a slap be done in a more efficient way.

This is basically the situation of people of Pakistan. A stockholm syndrome of sorts with their captors.

Is it surprising for you ? If you know that once upon a time your ancestors lived and died for thousands of years in the land across the border ?

It is habit of people in our subcontinent from thousands of years to admire their perpetrators , attackers , exploiters , and men who rule them . People are suffering from stockholm syndrome .
Not surprising if that is what some are thinking. But is that what most people are thinking?

Out of curiosity we went close, Indians somehow are fascinated by getting close to borders I've noticed. Borders and their passes become tourist spots in India.

You're just overthinking, its nothing like that. People from India get close out of curiosity/excitement because getting close to border is a normal thing for Lahoris, not for tourists who come from Delhi/Mumbai etc.
I guess being so close to a different culture is indeed interesting. Signs in another language, different designs on roads, etc.

Actually, Paksiatn is hyped up in a lot of wrong ways in India. The media and the Bollywood create a very negative image and a common man starts making weird images of the people from across. It has become better with social media and people do get to know about the world.

Those who are a little informed and travelled abroad and interacted with Pakistanis know better.

Hence the desire to peek across and look for misery but they must be surprised to see happy looking lot.

I have been a willing witness to this buffoonery a couple of times and have enjoyed it thoroughly. It is an entertainment show and should be treated like one.

People in these parts of the world patronise many other forms of buffoonery. Some of it is even lower than this. All regions in the world have some activity that can be nothing more than buffoonery but people enjoy them as such.
If it is entertainment, then I think it is worthwhile. Since it costs little and brings amusement in far off places where people may not have opportunities for live entertainment like theater etc., Is this only at this border post or is it done at other places like border with Bhutan, Myanmar and Nepal?
