I saw a documentary with Bruce Riedel, where he said that in 2007, when they started droning, they would give Pakistanis advance notification as a courtesy call, but every time they did that, the target wouldn't be there so they stopped telling them right before Bush left and the policy was since continued.

If any air craft of any air force operating in the region is shot during the aerial engagement it will escalate the situation.So it is very less likely that US,NATO, turkish and russian jets engage each other in air combat.
on the lighter part looking forward for an aerial engagement between the russian Su 30 and F-16s of NATO.Will support the russian jets though

Its not that we cant shoot the drones down, the problem is mushi signed an agreement with them and if we stop them it would be a violation. Also the drone strikes benefit us as well as they are quite precise.
