Depends. India can get Su-57s as early as 2025 if it wishes to buy, but problem is that India wants it to be a bit mature before making any decisions about it. On the other hand if we wish to go with F-35s, It will take long for deliveries..2030s may be.

Tejas Mark 1 is here = 40 planes by 2022
Mark 1a will come 2022- 2028 = 83 planes
Tejas MK2 from 2028-2038 = 120 planes
AMCA = 2040

SO YOU ARE CORRECT

AS an INTERIM OPTION IAF will order off the shelf order for 60+ fifth generation fighters in 2025 to be delivered by 2030-2032

This will 65% chance Russian SU57 if they improve the Engine and have better stealth & sensor fusion than today

There is a 35% chance IAF or INDEED Navy may order F35 instead around the same time if Russian SU57 deemed still poor

There is a highly likely order for 36 more rafales in next 4 years ie like 80% certainty
