Google satellite are not real time. They take images over long duration, form the bigger picture by adding the images. Military satellites working in real time need overall coverage area more than resolution, so as to not miss any vital information due to lack of coverage.
When the picture was taken for Google earth, it was high resolution. If you consider the long duration, then all the vehicles will be a blur or a streak.
The west for sure has high resolution satellites. The reason they released a low resolution picture must be for propaganda purposes.

That is not what I meant, but never mind.

but doesn't it look quite small?? and is there interest in russia for the "mars one" project??
This is only the first module. The station is constructed gradually. I know nothing about "mars one".

i see... like how mir and iss were built.

I know nothing about "mars one".

"mars one" is a holland-based privately-funded project which aims to send people to mars starting 2024... this is meant to be a one-way trip, life-time settlement on mars... technically, people from any part of the world can apply, and thousands have already applied... i am sure there are many russians too...

It looks like a fraud.

no... this is not like that regular sale of plots on the moon... :)

the organizers of "mars one" are not themselves building spaceships or life-support-systems... they will use systems built by companies like spacex.

as you know, spacex dragon capsule has already delivered luggage to the international space station, thrice... and spacex will be testing in 2016 its dragon v2 human-capable earth-orbit spaceship which is designed to carry seven people to iss.

"mars one" essentially seem to be organizers of the travel... like travel companies we have presently... at the moment, they want to bring in investment from media companies who will be given rights to broadcast the travel... reality tv, like "big brother".

it is not a fraud... it just seems not possible at this moment... but it is quite possible, technologically and otherwise... you know, many people from india have registered too, as have people from pakistan or from usa, or elsewhere

Russian Ministry of Defence spokesperson said that the second new-generation GLONASS-K Russian navigation satellite has been put into orbit.
MOSCOW, December 1 (Sputnik) – The second new-generation GLONASS-K Russian navigation satellite has been put into orbit, a Defense Ministry spokesperson told RIA Novosti Monday.

"The Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket…has successfully put the new-generation Russian navigation satellite 'Glonass-K' into orbit," Col. Alexei Zolotukhin, a spokesperson for Russia's Aerospace Defense Forces, said.

The satellite was launched from the Russian Plesetsk space center on Monday, December 1, at 00:52 Moscow time (21:52 GMT Sunday, November 30).

Plesetsk has been the site of Russia's GLONASS satellite launches since February 26, 2011, when the first new-generation GLONASS-K spacecraft was put into orbit by the Soyuz 2.1 medium-class carrier rocket.

GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System), which was launched in 1993, is considered to be Russia's answer to the American Global Positioning System (GPS).

There are currently 24 operational GLONASS satellites in orbit. The network provides real-time positioning and speed data for surface, sea and airborne objects around the globe.
