Russian documentary on INS Vikramaditya, beautiful visuals :)

. . .
What the hell
There is an English version right

Beautiful with lethal punch and enormous fire power, Thanks for sharing this documentary

Quiet interesting views, the translations sadly don't work that well, but it seems to say that 12 aircrafts can be housed in the hangar, with another 10-12 on the deck. That confirms the total of 20-22 aircrafts.

VERY cool @janon!! This is certainly going to be a feather in the IN's cap with those K/KUB on board!

+ cool to see an IAF MIG-29UPG being IFR via buddy-buddy refuelling at 17.53
Also i find it interesting that none of the Russian/Mig pilots are using the TOPSIGHT-I HMDS during this late stage in flight testing off the Viky. You'd have thought they'd want to integrate/test all the systems at once for final certification/clearance.

I don't think that's an IAF mig-29, as you can see a red star on it. Probably a Russian mig-29SMT. Remember that these videos were all shot in Russia, so the availability of IAF's migs there is unlikely.

BTW in the very next visual (a breathtaking touch and go on the carrier deck), the pilot is wearing nd HMDS. I don't know if it is topsight or not.

NOPE! It is indeed MiG 29UPG of IAF.

1. Look at the IAF roundels.
2. The tell-tale hump.
3. Last but not the least, look at the fin flash, the indian flag ; also the KBU series definitely belongs to UPG MiG 29s of IAF.

Hmm...So is it one of the IAF birds being modernized in Russia rather than at HAL? I wonder why they bother to paint the red star and unpaint it before returning it to IAF.

I mean the fighter being refuelled is an IAF MIG-29UPG 100%, yes the fighter acting as a refueller is a MIG-29K test a/c belonging to RIA Novosti.

And at what point do you see a HMDS bro?

No no bro, the LEAD plane is a K/KUB belonging to RIA Novosti, the plane being refuelled is a UPG. The first 3 IAF MIG-29B/KBUs were sent to Russia to be modernised, the remaining 60 or so will be upgraded in India by HAL.

well long range sams will be added only by 2015-2016 and till then just CIWS and onboard aircrafts for its protection. But considering other destroyers and frigates along with Viki in CBG, air defence disadvantage will be negated.
