Russian Deputy Army Chief along with other Russian officers have visited Waziristan mainly Wana and Miran Shah region. Core Commander Peshawar Lt General Hadayt Ullah and other Pakistan Army officers accompanied them during this visit.

Big development. Americans could never get such an access. Unlike Americans, Russia has a vested interest in establishing peace in Afghansitan and FATA. Only a peaceful, stable region will give Russians their chance to use CPEC effectively.

Americans on the other hand would want to disturb CPEC and regions associated with it. That actually means we are going to see a little war between USA/India vs Pakistan-China-Russia. Earlier pair want disturbance, later group want peace.

Russian Military delegation visits Waziristan


RAWALPINDI: Deputy Chief of General Staff ,Colonel General Israkov Sergi Yuryevich headed a Russian Military delegation who visited Miran Shah North Waziristan Agency and Wanna, South Waziristan Agency, on Thursday.

According to the ISPR, the Russian Military delegation was briefed about the Pakistan-Afghanistan border management as well as the socio-economic development projects that had been undertaken in the area.

After being briefed about Pakistan Army's efforts to root out and drive militants from FATA, the Russian Military delegation appreciated Pakistan Army's role in fighting terrorism and bringing stability in the region.

Lieutenant General Nazir Ahmed Butt, commander Peshawar Corps accompanied the Delegation, stated the ISPR.

Russian and Pakistani military interaction is not common but now surprising things are happening. Why Russia is felling much better about Pakistan now! And what about India? India is a big economy and Russia India will make helicopters in the future but Russia is not looking interested in politics of India and Pakistan.they supported India in the past but now this military cooperation between Russia and Pakistan is not good for India.I am thinking why Russia is getting so serious about Pakistan! There is nothing change now.who is responsible for this new friendship? China or Pakistani government?

Isn't dangerous for India? I mean Russian army and Pakistan army interaction? I think Indians completely forget Russia.this news looks like joke but it's real.what is the position of India on this news? This is even a strange news for a Pakistani.

A Russian Military delegation visited Miranshah and Wana on Thursday, according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The delegation, which was headed by Deputy Chief of General Staff Colonel General Israkov Sergi Yuryevich visited Miranshah, which is in North Waziristan Agency, and Wana, which is in South Waziristan Agency.

The delegation was briefed about Pakistan Army's efforts to clear FATA from terrorists. Moreover, the delegation was also briefed about the Pakistan-Afghanistan border management and socio-economic development projects in the area for enduring stability.

The delegation acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army’s achievements in fight against terrorism and efforts to bring stability in the region.

Commander Peshawar Corps Lieutenant General Nazir Ahmed Butt also accompanied the delegation.

The visiting Russian delegation. -ISPR
A Russian military delegation, accompanied by senior officers of the Pakistan Army, visited Miran Shah in North Waziristan Agency and Wanna in South Waziristan Agency, said a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The delegation of the Russian army, the first ever to visit the conflict-stricken areas, was led by Deputy Chief of General Staff Colonel General Israkov Sergi Yuryevich.

“The delegation was briefed about Pakistan Army's efforts to clear FATA from terrorists of all hue and colours,” said the ISPR statement.

The visiting Russian military officers were also briefed about border management on the Pak-Afghan border and socio economic development projects in the area.

“The delegation acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army’s achievements in the fight against terrorism and efforts to bring stability in the region,” added the statement.

Cooperation between the armed forces of Russia and Pakistan has grown in recent times.

In September 2016, a contingent of Russian ground forces arrived in Pakistan for the first ever joint Pak-Russian exercise.

Around 200 military personnel of both countries participated in the drills. The special operations drills codenamed ‘Druzhbha-2016’ — a Russian word meaning “friendship” — saw Russian troops and Pakistani special forces working in close cooperation.

Building upon the cooperation, Russian Navy’s largest anti-submarine warfare ship Severmorsk arrived in Pakistan for participation in the Aman 2017 international naval exercises in February 2017.

Pakistan also confirmed purchase of Mi-35 ground attack helicopters in 2015.

This is coming at a time, when just yesterday, America openly accused Moscow of supporting Afghan Talibans. Considering how easy it would be to give military support to Afghan Talibans from these areas were this delegation went, America better chose it words very carefully next time.
