MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Aerospace Forces have received 91 aerial medium-range guided missiles in 2017, another 109 will arrive by the end of 2017, First Deputy General Director at Vympel State Machine-building Design Bureau, Nikolai Tarasov, said.
"In 2017 our enterprise manufactured and delivered 91 aerial air-to-air medium-range guided missiles for the Aerospace Forces," Tarasov said on the unified military goods commissioning day on Friday, broadcast on Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television channel on Friday.
"There are plans to deliver 109 more of this type of products before the end of this year," he said.
"Obligations to our state customer will be performed in full, with quality and on time," Tarasov.
These missiles can be used on all types of Mikoyan and Sukhoi aircraft and are designed to engage aerial targets at any time day and night under any angle, against the backdrop of land and water surfaces, under the "fire-and-forget" principle, Tarasov said.
"The products withstood all types of tests envisaged by the technical documentation under the terms of the state contract and were admitted by military representatives," Tarasov reported to the Russian Defense Minister, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.
