Russia-Ukraine War - News and Developments PART 2

Transport would be another issue since main roads are checked by Ukr fpv drone teams and transport trucks are targeted. Fortifications can be built north closer to Kursk nuclear plant and soldiers can initially be transferred there first. Also building further fortified positions. From there necessary amount of soldiers can use motorbikes-quad atvs to reach necessary zones south. If ukraine didnt bring the artillery yet tracked apcs can also be used over terrain to transfer soldiers instead of roads but it seems Ukr gets everything for this assault gamble like they can have long range nlos atgms.

Another item that can be utilized is R37M a2a missile. It can be converted to an air to ground weapon with a software upgrade in my opinion. It has about 400km range mach 4 and much smaller than Iskander and also much cheaper. It can be used to strike less fortified points inside Kiev when fired from Kursk like Radar sites. Jamming sites. Patriots etc. The usage of all air to ground should consider Ukr F16s cued by ground radar since they dont have awacs. Su35s fly low and then climb high to release the missiles and then dive down again so F16 have very little time to detect and strike back the Russian fighters. Ukraine possibly has gps-glonass jammers in Kiev so missiles should use accurate ins. Seeker might need to be modified to anti radar or image recognition as well. Or a tungsten bullet warhead like atacms can suffice on R37 with INS only as guidance to take out radar sites and vehicles. No direct hit is necessary in that option

Countries close to Russia can send help officially or unofficially. This is a historic opportunity to secure a bond with Russia. Kursk also has a historical meaning for a lot of people who witnessed ww2. This type of help would create a long term strong bond irrespective of any leader or government.

The trap here is tricking Russia to use tactical nuclear weapons. A high portion of the Russian forces are in the special military operation zone. Nato can start attacking Russian forces with high number of cruise missiles over Ukraine airspace and Ukr can claim it is their missiles. Even if Russia will then possibly make a large scale nuclear attack on Ukraine , the conventional elements of Russian military will take a significant and long term damage. After a large scale nuclear attack Usa can make nuclear attacks to other countries as well with their submarines nearby. So tactical nukes seem to be a solution for Russia at first look but the problems that it creates are much higher for everyone. Allied countries support to Russia would also remove the nuclear possibility.

Footage has been published of a Russian kamikaze drone "Lancet-52" striking a Ukrainian armored vehicle "Kozak-2" in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region of Russia. The armored vehicle "Kozak 2M.1" was introduced in 2016 and can have small arms or a 40-mm automatic grenade launcher UAG-40. There were two drone attacks in total, the first strike on the car on the road, after the car went off the road, the second strike destroyed the armored vehicle "Kozak-2".

Footage of a head-on battle in Girya, Kursk Oblast, between a Ukrainian armored personnel carrier BTR-4E and a Russian armored personnel carrier BTR-82A. Both combat vehicles are armed with 30-mm 2A72 cannons. In general, the combat vehicles are approximately equal, but the Russian BTR-82A opened fire first, which decided the outcome of the battle, the BTR-4 caught fire. It is worth noting that, according to all the facts of the use of equipment in battles in Ukraine that have been shown over the past 2 years, it was important who first noticed the enemy, this decides the outcome of the battle.

Russia needs more mohajeer-6 and orion drones to detect Ukr positions, depots and hqs in Kursk.
Since Ukr air defenses are not very active there Geran/Shaheed kamikaze drone swarms would be more successful. Later on fath360 and NK srbms would work well as well against static targets like Ukr depots and hqs in Kursk.

Then Ru army can enter suburbs by motorbikes-atvs and start expanding from there. Ukr has jdam and F16s as well this should be considered .So there should be some long range anti air protection like S400-500 situated far from frontline as well as fighter jet-awacs cover. Russian awacs if it is flying 500+kms away with escort fighters cant be downed by Ukr in my opinion. Awacs can at least detect incoming Ukr planes to alert Mig31 and similar interceptors.

Footage of the Russian Zemledeliye mining machine in action in the Kursk region of Russia. The Zemledeliye remote mining machine fires 122 mm rockets, according to some sources 140 mm, performing remote mining in the border areas of the Sumy region of Ukraine. The ammunition currently includes two rockets with mines of different types, which is enough to solve most typical tasks. The Zemledeliye remote mining engineering system machine began to be used in Ukraine since 2022. Technical information about the Zemledeliye mining machine is in the link to the video in the comments to the video.

The new FPV drone "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky" controlled via fiber optic cable has begun to be used by the Russian army in the Kursk region. The Russian FPV drone "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky" was developed by the Novgorod Scientific and Production Center "Ushkuynik", the manufacturer did not provide technical details and photos of the drone.
As reported, the drone was used in the Kursk region to attack Ukrainian armored vehicles about seven times. Control of the drone "Vandal" via fiber optic cable provides complete invulnerability from electronic warfare equipment, and you can also see excellent image quality. The disadvantages of this method of controlling the drone include limitations on range and flight routes and a higher price for the drone.

Rather than pantoon bridges on the river in Kursk region which are easily targeted by Ukraine ,tunnels can be built by Russia under the river. Ofcourse that is true if the river is not too deep and wide. Small Gaza like tunnels can provide support like food or ammo to Russian infantry although vehicles cannot pass from such small tunnels.

Tunnel should not be straight but curved after the entry points since if entry points are found by satellites or uavs tunnel location can be estimated.and taken out by bunker buster bombs.

An episode of the battle, the Russian BMP-3 of the "Anvar" detachment, with the Ukrainian BMP-2 and armored group in the Kursk region of Russia in the village of Russkaya Konopelka. This battle caused heated discussions on the network, due to the fact that the BMP-2 shown in the video was considered Russian. At first glance, it looks like this, the Ukrainian tactical sign of a triangle, for an unknown reason was not finished and it began to look like a Russian sign with the letter "V". But later the situation became clear when the Ukrainian media UNIAN confirmed that the BMP-2 with this sign was Ukrainian. Despite this, many questions remained about the battle, why the BMP-3 did not hit the Ukrainian M-113 armored personnel carrier from close range, perhaps it was shooting at another target located far away. The result of the battle, three Ukrainian combat vehicles "Kozak", BMP-2 were destroyed, some of them presumably by drones, there are also reports about the M-113 armored personnel carrier, but it was not shown in the video anymore. The video has been shortened, the dead soldiers have been cut out. Technical information about the equipment is on the channel.

Footage of the Russian kamikaze drone "Lancet-51" striking a Ukrainian T-64BV tank. The video was filmed on August 11 in the village of Cherkasskoye Porechny, Kursk region of Russia. The video is unique in that the drone strike was filmed by the Ukrainian and Russian armies simultaneously. At first glance, the Ukrainian T-64BV tank withstood the drone strike, apparently due to the tank's net protection, but after moving forward, it stopped and a fire started inside. It is unknown whether the crew managed to leave the tank, but as a result of the fire and detonation of ammunition, the tank was completely destroyed.

KYIV: Ukraine said on Thursday that one of its F-16 fighter jets made by the United States crashed while repelling a Russian air strike, killing the pilot onboard.

The announcement marks the first reported destruction of an F-16 in Ukraine, just weeks after Kyiv began taking delivery of the supersonic aircraft.

“F-16 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were used to repel a missile attack on the territory of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, along with units of anti-aircraft missile troops,” the Ukrainian army said.

“During the approach to the next target, communication with one of the planes was lost. As it turned out later, the aircraft crashed, killing the pilot,” it added.

It did not identify the pilot, but a unit of Ukraine’s air force said one of its pilots, Oleksiy Mes, had died in a crash on Monday while repelling a Russian air attack.

“On 26 August, while repelling a Russian massive combined missile and air strike, Oleksiy destroyed three cruise missiles and one attack drone,” Ukraine’s Western air command unit said.

“Oleksiy saved Ukrainians from deadly Russian missiles. Unfortunately, at the cost of his own life,” it said.

The announcements come as a blow to Ukraine, which had long relied on a fleet of ageing Soviet-era MIG-29 and Sukhoi jets and had asked for the F-16s to defend against intense Russian aerial bombardment.

Moscow fired a wave of attack drones and missiles at Ukraine on Monday this week in what President Volodymyr Zelensky called one of the “largest” attacks of Russia’s two-and-a-half year invasion.

It appears that limited decision making centers were hit in the most recent attack. After the Crimea bridge terrorism, the retaliation attack hit power stations but also SBU offices and bunkers in Kiev. Peskov did say that this most recent attack was not the retaliation for Kursk. So maybe they have a new strike package lined up for decision making centers.

Lt Gen Mykola Oleshchuk was sacked the day amid debates over the downing of an F-16 fighter jet

President Volodymyr Zelensky has sacked the commander of Ukraine's air force amid debate over the destruction of one of the country's valuable new F-16 fighter jets.

Mr Zelensky did not specify the reason for dismissing Lt Gen Mykola Oleshchuk, but said he had a responsibility to "take care of all our warriors".

The US-made F-16 - one of several delivered earlier this month by Ukraine's Western allies - went down on Monday, killing the pilot.

Even though it happened during a barrage of Russian missiles, Ukraine said the cause of the crash was not a direct result of an enemy strike, and Lt Gen Oleshchuk sparred with some politicians over who was to blame for the loss.

Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and has seized a large part of territory in the east of the country.

But Ukraine also launched a surprise incursion into Russia's western Kursk region early this month - and says its troops have been advancing deeper into Russia.

In response, Russia has intensified its attacks across Ukraine.

Ukrainian FPV drones have started using incendiary mixtures, the first data about them appeared on August 18 on the Soledar front line. It is unknown what models of drones and what suspension for spraying the mixture are used. Initially, it was assumed that a substance similar to napalm was sprayed, but at the moment, the composition of the incendiary mixture is not reported. It is known that the flammable mixture is difficult to extinguish.

An episode of combat work by a Russian crew of an M-46 130mm artillery gun in the Kursk region of Russia. The gun's fire is adjusted by reconnaissance aircraft from a UAV. The M-46 gun's firing range is up to 37 kilometers

Footage of a strike by a Russian FPV drone VT-40 Sudoplatov on a Ukrainian M577 command vehicle. The video was filmed in the Kursk region of Russia. The M577 command vehicle was developed in the United States in 1962 on the basis of the American-made M113 armored personnel carrier. The M577 is armed with a 7.62 mm machine gun and is designed to control troops at the operational-tactical level and can also be used to transport the wounded. Judging by the force of the explosion, in this case the Ukrainian M577 command vehicle was used to deliver ammunition and personnel.

Clear footage of the Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system intercepting a Ukrainian 277mm M31A1 guided rocket, and a US-made HIMARS MLRS has been released. The video of the interception of the M142 HIMARS MLRS rocket was filmed in the Kursk region of Russia. The M31A1 rocket is a difficult target for air defense, since the RCS of the M31A1 projectile is presumably about 0.07 square meters, and it also has a high flight speed. The air defense crew must make a decision and intercept the target within a short period of time. The M31A1 HIMARS MLRS rocket was detected at a range of about 10 km and shot down at a range of 6,200 meters. Two 57E6 Pantsir-S1 air defense missiles were needed to intercept the target.

Footage of Russian missile strikes on September 4 in the area of the Lviv railway station in Ukraine. Presumably, 5 X-101 cruise missiles and Geranium drones were used in the strike. Strikes were also carried out on other objects in the city. Presumably, there were trains with military equipment and machinery at the station, but there is currently no footage from the station. As a result of the strikes, two people were killed and 23 were injured.

A Ukrainian serviceman showed a video of the strikes and ammunition of the Russian RBK-500 SHOAB-0.5 cluster bomb.
