Russia-Ukraine War - News and Developments PART 2

The flow of aid to Ukraine will continue unimpeded

There is a lend lease act, which gives Biden a complete carte blanche to supply anything, and which he never used yet.

All that drama is completely aimed at internal audience, oblivious of the politics involved.

In reality, it feels there is as much animosity with Biden in his own party as with Trump on the republican side.

Both blackmail their own parties, one by the prospect of losing, and another by the prospect of ensuring loss.

Biden is gating continued Ukraine support, and F-16 on his reelection. This is why he held out on delivering major gear in a seemingly suicidal titration of arms deliveries, and why all dates on promised major gear were moved to 2024.

Biden is holding his party hostage as much as Trump does to GOP, except it's far less advertised.

"Everybody, give me complete, total, unconditional support, or I will lose to Trump and f**k you all up"

I first read into his intention when he picked Kamala Harris as a VP. This signalled his intention extremely clear, he was planning this as far back as 2018. He very much knew that by picking his running mate who is 1. black, 2. woman, 3. complete potato, he deprived his party of any alternative to him in 2024.

Russia is calculating their moves. Now Russia has made test of a very powerfull weapon no one has, the Burevestnik missile.

This missile has not limit of reach and it s capable to dodge any ABM in the world with a nuke payload.

I have clear Russia has been enboldened, and the bear will unleash their wrath very soon.US is only wasting millions of dollars and are incapable to defend Ukraine.
Russia is always brewing on some very powerfull weapon according to statesponsered russian media. But what happens once this missile takes off?

They make it once a while to entertain the people.
The war costs Russia $1 billion per day, human casualty runs 500-600 dead and wounded per day. Russia next year budget for military spending domestic abroad will be $230 billion.
Even if Putin has mountains of cash and gold, supports by unlimited friends China and India, at some points those mountains will run dry.

Patience is running out as the war shows no ending. European economies are taking a hit. World economies are taking a hit. The common man in Europe is frustrated with rising prices. The common European doesn't really care about the war in Ukraine anymore. It is tiring and never ending. Putin is playing the long game here. It is working for Putin.

Well it seems there is still healthy amount of support for the war in Europe.

The parliament has eight parties and a coalition of 3-4 parties is needed.
Before last election we had a situation with 174 MPs for the left block and 174 MPs for the right block, and an MP that went maverick after being ejected from the communist party.

Minority governments are not uncommon in this situation.
The King is the Head of State but he is forbidden to engage in politics.

The only requirement for the Prime Minister is that he is a Swedish citizen, and does not have a second job. The candidate for Prime Minister is suggested by the speaker. Then there is a vote in the parliament. Unless there is a majority vote against the candidate, the candidate becomes elected. So You can have 174 votes for, 1 against and 174 abstained and still get elected.

Congress has power over the President, because they can impeach him for wearing a tan suite. They do need qualified majority in the Senate for impeachment to affect anything.
SCOTUS has also power over the President, since the Constitution names certain crimes which would block perpetrators from holding office.

You are missing my point, even if you have a minority government you need to make deal on, you still have a what we would normally call "Functioning" government. It's not a functioning government when the President is in one party and the congress is on the other, because you cannot compromise with the opposition party, because they are wielding power not just sit there in the session and decide what they are against. Because you are not going to get any bill thru without the opposition.

And you can't impeach a president wearing a tan suit lol, Constitution only allow Impeachment of a Public Office for Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. And it's a lot harder than you think because you would need to employ a special counsel and a congressional inquiry to nominate the charge. And then the House can vote for it, and approved by Senate with super majority.

And SCOTUS do not determine whether or not POTUS can be impeached, they can only rule on whether or not an issue is unconstitutional, they do not hand judgment or opinion on whether someone follow the constitution, in fact, there is a court case that just got rejected by SCOTUS in which a Texan sue to put Trump name off the ballot in 2024 for exactly what you said

I know it is close to impossible to amend the constitution.
There is no shortcut here. If you want to be able to identify illegal aliens, then you need to keep track of everyone.

Because the constitution makes it possible for a few percent to block the will of a huge majority.

The way it works, You cannot do things even if it is absolutely neccessary.
It's not close to impossible, again, it's actually quite easy, but as I said, you don't do that because changing on constitution would mean taking people will away from them. As I said, you probably wouldn't know if you are not an American.

Russia has had a lot of time to set up some formidable defenses. Yes Ukraine does not have air superiority but then neither does Russia. Everyone agrees that if Russia goes to Total War status Ukraine cannot win. But what is a victory for Russia? That has changes several times since Feb 2022. Very few pundits are able to intelligently opine on what is the actual and realistic definition of victory for Russia at this time.

Probably annexation of whole of Ukraine.

Just saw a video recently of Ukrainians targeting Russian vehicles around Tokmak now. Its something we mentioned about taking Tokmak and Melitipol as well.
They are setting the battlefield for next operation. It's the same thing they did last year around the same time...

To Save Strength And Fleet, The Russians Are Retreating. Military Summary And Analysis For 2023.10.6

.
For the russian cheerleaders.

What war goals did russia achieve?

They set out to:
Keep ukraine under russian sphere/control, and out of EU/NATO.
taking kiev and installing a puppet regime failed horribly.

Ukraine population went from 20% (2014) wanting to join Nato to 85% now.
They lost the hearts of their “brother nation”.

“Denazify and demilitarize”

Again failed. Ukraine is now stronger then at the start of the war. Its leadership firmly in control.

“Stop Nato”

Even more of a failure, finland and sweden set to join. Ukraine is practically a nato partner now. Defense budgets doubled/tripled in almost all Nato countries

“Turn ukraine in a failed rump state”

Failed again. They could bot take Odessa. Russia cannot even contain its blockade and had to retreat most of its black sea fleet even.

“Save the donbass from genocide” (such a cheap lie)

There were a few tens of casualties in 2021. From collateral fighting on both sides.

During the war russia massively pressured the donbass population into the army. Casualties have been in the multiple tens of thousands.

So Seriously? This three day operation turned into a geopolitical nightmare for russia.
At MOST it can try to dig in with millions of mines while bleeding losses, and try to hold out till a frozen conflict/settlement on frontlines. Hoping western patience is thin.

It then can try to sell off taking (most) of the donbass and holding crimea as some sort of “win” internally.
This came at enormous cost however.

At that time they basically have gone through their entire soviet army stock. Dropping them from near peer superpower to regional power.
Nato on the other hand is now stronger and larger then ever.

Their economy has been massively hit. Millions fled the country, they alienated many trade partners and are now subservient to their rival China.
Demographics take a big hit as well.

Their international leverage took a massive hit. Ukraine out of their sphere, kazachstan and uzbekistan aiming to china, azerbadjan/armenia turning away.

Seriously russia cheerleaders…reality check please.
