IIRC, most of their "Junior Lieutenant" are professional guy, like a Warrant Officer in the US, not a line Lieutenant.

Russians say they rallied 300k extra troops. UA intel says Russians managed to only mobilise 240k by January.

You need as a minimum of 4 COs and NCOs per 30 people for the most bare bones infantry company to function. That's 40000 people if Russians have really amassed 300k, and 32000 if Ukrainian intel is correct.

Russian original 240k force was very specialist, and officer heavy because they indeed had tons of fancy weapons at the start, for which you need officers. But we need to remember, of these 240k, only around 80k-100k of troops were actual warfighting force. The rest were auxiliaries: engineers, logi, DPR/LPR/Wagner troops, and 40k to 50k of people from Russian 3 letter agencies, Russian national guard, and militarised police.

So, it means they had around 15000-20000 NCOs and COs in combat units, and those were their best ones, and a the majority of their officer corps...

To throw these 300k people into battle they will need to prepare more officers than they managed to do in their entire 30 years after the collapse of USSR. With this in mind, reports of "1 officer per a hundred of riflemen or worse" are not so unbelievable anymore. That's solder to officer ratio comparable to armies of WW1.

What i found out recently is that a normal 155mm shell is about $3,000 dollars to buy at the moment. A lot cheaper than what i was expecting tbh!!

That's 20-fold the peacetime 155mm market price from Eastern European ammo makers.

LoL yeh we saw how they couldn't intercept balloon for days it was a message that you are not invisible
unrelated things, only way to understand current USA behavior against Russia, it's that they can stop any kind of Russia attack against USA mainland, no matter the size, and 0.00% error ratio.

Of course, Europe can't do the same thing.

By this token, Pakistan should give KPP to Afghanistan or at least we should assume that if Afghanistan were to mount an invasion on KPP, it would be justified because of ethnic pashtuns.... or Spain (if it were capable) go and re-occupy Argentina.

But from what I can see, most of the territory that Russia has conquered from Ukraine is mainly inhabited by either ethnic Russians or Ukrainian Russian speakers that have a degree of affinity with Russia and which prior to 2014 used to vote almost exclusively for pro-Russian parties. How are they ever going to integrate into an extremely Russophobic Kiev regime that even goes so far as banning pro-Russian political parties, the Russian language and is actively rewriting history?

I don't think that people understand the historical divisions within Ukraine. People east of the Dnipro river are very different from the Western Ukrainians. West Ukrainian is often Catholic, was ruled/dominated by Poland/Polish people for almost 600 years, the architecture and culture is different, the political identity (Western Ukraine being a hotbed of Ukrainian nationalism, where most of the Nazi Ukrainian collaborators were from, Bandera and other extremist hotbed) vs Eastern Ukraine.

You do realize that half of Ukraine, in particular Eastern and Southern Ukraine, was founded and settled by Russians right? Most of the cities were founded and built by the Russian empire. 100.000's if not millions of ethnic Russians settled those regions that used to be barren steppe or inhabited by Crimean Tatars.

Do you think that Russians fell down from the sky in Eastern and Southern Ukraine and Crimea? They are not going anywhere. Most of the inhabitants, whether Russian or Ukrainian (ethnicity) don't even speak Ukrainian, lol.

Zelenskiy himself barely speaks Ukrainian and his mother tongue is Russian.

They had to do it after Putin jump out of his plane like fresh spring. And of course Biden has a "clean physical"...haha...
For ONCE, and just this ONCE, I will agree that Putin has a picture of his manboobs on a horse, and Biden does not . So it means Putin can get on a horse without a shirt. He may have jumped out of an airplane once but he is running around like a rat on a train in his country so his movements are not tracked. Biden is biking and taking airplanes.

But also, much like you don't much about tactical maneuvering on the battlefield, you seem to think that this the world of the Spartans where the leader will fight the opponent in man to man fight. If that were to be the case, Zelensky would kick Putin's butt. And Biden of course being 80 is weaker. But he is not the one picking up the AGTM. Regardless of who is in power, the military machine and economic machine of the world's largest economy will be rallied against that of a country whose GDP is smaller than Italy and on its way down.

Nope. If you look at blow job Kamala and what all she said, then you know that it can go even worser than it is now with Biden. These are things one have to know if want to calculate scenarios.

Looks like Ukraine and especially bakhmut has become vietnam of invading russian establishment and invading russian armed forces

The problem with NATO member countries military expenditures in the past 30 years was that almost all downsizing was eating into readiness component, and not for "food."

The result was that some NATO member had sizeable militarises, which was important psychologically for politicians, but they were becoming less, and less capable with each year.

NATO's misadventure in the middle east also helped feed Western politicians' delusions about the level of readiness of their militaries. While the expenditures on armies in the field were gigantic, they did not really translate into any future benefit, and only ate into readiness maintenance budget even further.

Do you realize that Russia was founder by Ukrainians? Things you list don't not preclude anything, and if anything is telling, it were Russian majority cities which seen most of popular mobilisation.

Russian Ukrainians realise that far more is on the stake for them even more acutely than Ukrainian Ukrainians.

If Russians will come, they will die, plainly, and simple.

And unlike Russian speaking Ukrainian Ukrainians, they don't have any other place to call home other than Eastern Ukraine. If Ukraine loses, they will be first for traitor calling, and being killed.

This is so obvious.
As we found in Afghanistan and Iraq where NATO faced stiff resistance and a determined foe it will run. "Powerful" armies are meaningless if soldiers don't have the will to fight.
