Did you know that the US has not produced new M1s since 1993 but they are still one of the most advanced tanks in the world and guess why? because of continuous upgrades.

Currently, there's limited trust in Ukraine's net-new output.

I don't know much else about HIT's plans right now. But as the PA keeps shelving current/previous plans, it'll need to keep revising future plans to accommodate for the capability debt left by shelving past plans.

Pakistan and Russia will soon sign a contract in which Russia will modernize T-80 tanks of Pakistan Army.

It will include new improved jet engine better armor and improved gun and targeting system better optics and a lots more stuff.

The talks have been done and contract to be signed soon.

This "may be" an initial deal that would be followed by a larger deal of either one of Russian tanks. Whichever the case, Pakistan ought to seek (if they are going for Russian tanks), a deal which incorporates full MRO facility, in-country. Because it wouldn't make any sense upgrading these tanks in Russia, just for 320 odd units. This ought to be a starter deal to a larger procurement agreement in the future.

Vt 4 would not be over 250 units. Its inferior. Only tank good enough for modern battlefield against good armies is ztz99 series.
