Indian planners should look forward to upgrade Vietnam Su30's with Indian subsystems. also make BVAARM like Astra compatible.

I think Integrating Brahmos air launch version is NOT best solution for Vietnam due to current economic conditions. Not to forget it'll also required some expensive structural changes.

According to Russian military news network reported on June 19, the Chinese military website forum disclosed on June 16, said code F-10B F -10 fighter has been incorporated into the Chinese Air Force fighter testing center trial, China Academy of Engineering representatives to participate in related activities, CCTV Channel 7 reported.

Russian media said the F-10B is equipped with more modern airborne equipment, including a perfect electronic warfare systems and avionics. In this regard, the F-10B is the most advanced models in the Chinese combat aircraft. It is reported that this fighter using airborne active phased array radar, tactical and technical performance of the more advanced F-10A and J-11 In contrast, the more successful against the Vietnamese Air Force Soviet -30MK2/MKV fighter and Indian Su-30MKI, “Rafale” fighter. It is reported that the French Rafale fighter should in general from 2015 started to equip the Indian Air Force.

Russian media said the F-10B prototype first flew on December 27, 2008, and its appearance on the main distinguishing features is the middle of a half cone stealth supersonic inlet, the lower edge of the former sudden, with semi-cone inlet with effective shielding and protection of the engine turbine blades. This structure is similar to programs and the latest model in the United States F-16 fighter jets corresponding technical to reduce the aircraft effective scattering area, thereby reducing the aircraft’s radar signature, to improve the stealth effect. In the service of China’s new generation fighter F -20, it is expected that the F-10B may be the transitional aspects of the models play an important role.

not gonna happen. Brahmos will alter the dynamics of SCS by a big margin. Indian govt. wont take that risk with their weird obsession with not stepping on anyone's toes

actually Su-30MKI will not go head on with J-10..they will just fire their BVRAAM and turn back.plus Su-30MKI has more powerful radar than J-10.working like AWACS and relaying the positions,I think it has pretty much chance that J-10 is going to be picked up first.plus don't forget Su-30MKI will go under Super Sukhoi upgrade.

plus its unclear the status of AESA of J-10B(mere speculation..no confirmation on that).read this...

India should rush the Brahmos to Vietnam ASAP. It's a very deadly missile against warships and land targets. Once it's fired there is no defence against it.

I realize that Indians are very proud of the brahmos but that isn't exactly accurate. Ratheon had missiles such as Brahmos in mind when it developed ESSM (evolved sea sparrow missile).

I think, India shall support Vietnam more in order to contain China. Though I can understand India´s position that it does not want to provoke China.
Luckily we have Russia as a close friend and an ally. Russia is a Super Power. It does not take care of feeling of China.
Since decades, Russia supports and delivers eveything what Vietnam needs for its defence. If Vietnam says, it needs this and that, such as modern submarines, advanced warships, latest fighter aircrafts, battle tanks, missiles, etc...
Vietnam gets them!
Money rarely plays a role. Vietnam is still poor to afford all of these arm purchases. Vietnam can pay back by installments, or even it gets for FREE if VN says that it will use weapons against the PLA.
