From what I’ve read online, Bangladesh (mujib) did not want independence from the start, he wanted a east Pakistan that used its own currency and had a paramilitary etc, this had caused issues etc and unfortunate events happened which caused a rift between the two brothers which will never heal. Pakistan will never apologise for what happened, which was wrong, but this was a both sided thing, calling it a one sided genocide is ridiculous, around 200,000 Bengali’s were killed (people go higher but according to CIA it was this figure) and upwards of 500,000 biharis were killed by Bangladesh.

500000 Biharis killed is based on fantasy and a stat that shows number of Bihari population reduced by that number. In reality that may be true but the number did not decrease due to killing but cause many Biharis migrated back to India or Pakistan. One could not hide by killing that much Biharis.
