Syria will be a longer war than Iraq... yes there will be an election but either Russia or the US won't like the outcome.
Russia wants a permanent port and base in Syria while the US and NATO don't want it no matter what as it's too important and gives Russia a big advantage during a larger war (WW 3).

This is what will happen:
- Elections will be held and both USA and Rusia will agree to it to save face.
- Then most likely within 1 year we will have internal fighting start just like in Iraq because one side wasn't happy with the outcome.

Iraq 2.0 but it will last much longer because of Russia.

Iran seems to be the wild card here, they have shia support in iraq might try to make a move no one expects.

Israel and Turkey will just wait it all out and eat pop-corn.
