Russia Offers Su-35 Tech Transfer To Indonesia

Brother,

Indonesia is not surrounded by hostile neighbors. She is not in the same predicament as a India-Pakistan, South Korea-North Korea, China-Japan situation where everyone has at least 200+ aircraft. Indonesia borders Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, and to an extent Australia. Indonesia is a fraternal country with ASEAN, as both are part of an economic and political block. Tho Indonesia and Australia may disagree on some security issues, they both are partners for peace in the Pacific-Oceania region; there are no contentions for war. Zilch. Indonesia really has no 'enemies', and she is capitalizing on that strategic reality by focusing on internal / demographic development.

You are looking at a nation that will soon become a middle income state in a decades time. Indonesia , truly, is a shining example of a responsible , robust democracy.

Indonesia is also developing warmer relations with the United States, and already has an extremely warm partnership with Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and a good relationship with China. She has an enviable position !!!!

Not so simple, China has claims over the Natuna island area with their 11 dash line, they can become a threat in the future.

Germany

A squadron in Indonesia : 16 units

Yes, Germany very much want to reduce their inventories or at least it was that way until very recently, don't know if the situation in Ukraine is changing that.

.
A tip, some of the european countries with eurofighters have budget issues and would love to unload some of the units that they have or that they have on order. Can have a good deal there.

SM, M2 or SU-35, has not being decided yet or do you have any new info on that?

In Indonesia, how many planes in 1 squadron?

Last year, a delegation from Vietnam visited the Irkutst Aviation Plants (IAPO), where they produce the Su-30MKI for Indian Air Force and Su-30SM for Russian Air Force. Earlier this year, there are news claimed that Vietnam get approval to send combat pilots to India for training. And there were rumors saying that Vietnam would buy BrahMos anti-ship missiles from India as well.

There migh be a deal to purchase a variant of Su-30SM, namely Su-30SMV. This is one of 3 options being considered, the remaining two are Su-34 (NAPO, a team was sent there as well) and Su-35S (KnAAZ, traditional partner with 3 Su-30MK2 squadrons previously).

So, there're many chances that Vietnam would pick Su-30SMV ; and/or Su-34 with Brahmos/Yakhont

I hope VN picks up the SU-34, that's the best plane for naval attack.

Why do you think comcom is calling the new just arrived Sukhois, SU-30M2V, that's a bit strange.

Yes but lately comcom has been calling the 2 planes that arrived in december SU-30M2V, that's very strange, why the new designation? Are those upgraded versions of the MK2V?

No. The last batch of 12 delivery completed. They're Su-30MK2 for V.
Vietnam already has enough 36 as 3 squadrons

Actually 83%(Component wise) of the MKI is produced in India & the Russians were so impressed by our version of the SU-30 a mixture of Indian,Israeli,French systems they decided to produce a identical version SU-30 SM for their Air force they even placed a Order for some Indian Avionics for their SUs

Wait a moment, the last order of 12 was supposed to be delivered by the end of this year, 2 were delivered in December and 10 will be delivered this year. When that delivery is finished, VN will have the 36 of Su-30MK2. Why you say those are already delivered?

Yes, those are supposed to be Su-30MK2, but for some reason comcom is calling the last 2 delivered in december M2V not MK2V which is very strange.

Wow, this is new to me, are you really sure about this?
This means the 2 that were delivered in december are actually the last 2 of the order?
Man, always all this secrecy with VN.
But still, why is comcom calling those last 2 as M2V?

The first two out of 12 jets ordered in early December were delivered to Vietnam,” a source said. According to him, “two more jets of the type will be delivered to the customer this year, the rest 8 ones – in 2015

So what you are saying is that the 8 to be delivered in 2015 are already delivered? Wow, that's unusually fast.
